Polysilicon prices have been lowered again, and companies continue to overhaul
2024-06-27 18:05

Polysilicon prices fell slightly this week. The transaction price range of n-type rod silicon was 39,000-42,000 yuan/ton, and the average transaction price was 40,000 yuan/ton, down 0.25% month-on-month. The transaction price range of monocrystalline dense material was 34,000-39,000 yuan/ton, and the average transaction price was 34,600 yuan/ton, down 6.23% from the previous two quotations. The transaction price range of n-type granular silicon was 36,000-37,000 yuan/ton, and the average transaction price was 36,500 yuan/ton, which was flat month-on-month.

This week, there were 4 companies trading for n-type rod silicon, and the number of companies trading for p-type rod silicon was smaller, but the trading volume increased. Specifically, the high price of n-type rod silicon has basically disappeared. The price of n-type small materials of large factories still remains at about 40,000 yuan, and the price difference of n-type mixed packaging materials is 1-2,000 yuan/ton, and only some manufacturers have a certain trading volume. Due to the low trading volume of p-type rod silicon in the previous week, the price fluctuation this week is a two-week cumulative volume. In the past week, the polysilicon market has been relatively flat, with most polysilicon companies mainly executing pre-orders, while downstream companies are still adopting an on-demand procurement strategy.

This week, polysilicon prices fell again due to the mismatch between supply and demand in the market, and the downstream utilization rate remained low. At present, most polysilicon companies have substantial maintenance behaviors, and some small production capacity is gradually resuming production, but the leading enterprises have carried out maintenance behaviors in an orderly manner, which has effectively inhibited the rapid growth of monthly output. In summary, the polysilicon supply is shrinking in an orderly manner, the room for price decline is accelerating, the inventory is limited, and the price increase momentum is insufficient.

As of this week, the number of China polysilicon production enterprises is 19, and the number of enterprises that have begun to overhaul and stop production remains at 15. Polysilicon imports in May were 4,058.3 tons, up 10.63% month-on-month. Polysilicon exports in May were 2,994.5 tons, up 51.25% month-on-month.
