On June 24, GCL Perovskite’s GW-scale industrial base officially commenced operation in Kunshan, Jiangsu — marking the world’s first GW-scale tandem module production facility.

It is reported that GCL Perovskite’s GW-scale industrial base project involves a total investment of 5 billion yuan, with a target production capacity of 2GW. The initial phase includes the deployment of a 1GW commercial perovskite module production line.

 On December 18, 2023, the Kunshan Municipal Government and GCL Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement, which specified that GCL’s subsidiary, Kunshan GCL Optoelectronic Materials Co., Ltd., would construct a 2GW perovskite production line in Kunshan in two phases. The groundbreaking ceremony for the project was held on December 27 of the same year.

In addition, on June 24th GCL Perovskite inaugurated the AI High-Throughput Joint R&D Center with Suzhou Lab and Soochow University.
