DSA Solar's France Factory to Boost "Made in France" Photovoltaic Industry Chain Development
2025-04-27 16:41

According to Wechat Official Account @gh_cbefccfce621, DSA Solar recently broke ground in Mandeure, France, for its first module manufacturing base in Europe. The factory has a designed production capacity of 3 gigawatts (GW) and will focus on producing high-efficiency TOPCon solar modules. The project is being jointly advanced by DSA Solar and French automotive group Nedey.

According to reports, DSA Solar first announced the project last November and has already invested approximately 109 million euros (about 115 million US dollars) in its construction. The new factory will be located on an existing industrial site in the area and will also deploy photovoltaic modules on its roof to reduce its operational carbon footprint.

DSA Solar also announced that it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Nedey Group to provide it with "high-efficiency DSA Solar photovoltaic systems." Based on this, it plans to promote the construction of a localized "Made in France" industrial chain, involving manufacturing facilities for key photovoltaic materials and components such as cables and junction boxes.

Currently, DSA Solar's global cell and module production capacity has reached 55GW, with its independently developed Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) cell achieving a conversion efficiency of over 27%.

At a time when global supply chains are accelerating their restructuring, DSA Solar's French project is not only another milestone for Chinese photovoltaic companies "going global" in Europe but may also become a crucial link in boosting the reconstruction of Europe's domestic photovoltaic manufacturing capabilities.
