The largest annual solar energy exposition in Japan is held at Tokyo Big Sight today (Feb. 27) with a scale larger than previous expositions. The exposition is the integration of the largest PV EXPO and 7 other energy expositions; other than solar-related expositions, wind power that has recently been widely noticed will take place as an independent exposition this year.
The exposition is comprised of 8 individual expositions and 3 themes.
Electricity supply:
- PV EXPO 2013-- 6th International PV Expo in Japan
- PV SYSTEM EXPO 2013-- 4th International Solar Power Generation System Construction Expo in Japan
- ENETECH JAPAN 2013-- 4th Processing Technology Expo
- FC EXPO 2013—9th International Hydrogen fuel Cell Expo in Japan

Important industry, government and academia representatives were once again invited to the ribbon-cutting at the opening ceremony of the 6th PV EXPO. According to statistics, the number of visitors, vendors, and exhibitors may exceed that of previous expositions; there will be approximately 1890 exhibitors (1453 in 2012) and 125,000 visitors (93497 in 2012) from 65 countries (60 in 2012). Numerous exhibitors suggest that this exposition is bound to be an extremely exciting and promising business platform to professionals from different fields. 275 seminars based on the 8 energy types will be held simultaneously, covering issues regarding all types of smart renewable energy.
In addition, taking place in World Smart Energy Week and Japan for the first time, WIND EXPO was co-organized by Japan Wind Power Association. This new exposition that focuses on wind power generation is also the first among related energy expositions to be held in Japan; it is designed for overseas wind turbine generators, system components, equipment manufacturers, and professionals of other wind power related industries in order to provide them with a great entry to the maturing market. In general, approximately 300 manufacturers will participate in the exposition, in which wind power leader Denmark will set a national pavilion at the exposition to express its enthusiasm in investing in the Japanese/Asia-Pacific wind power market.
