Recently, several companies have been accelerating the development of energy storage cell and sodium-ion battery projects. Among them, Pengcheng Wuxian's 4.8 billion yuan energy storage cell project has entered the equipment installation and commissioning stage. Meanwhile, XBPower and Horizontal Na Energy are advancing their respective sodium-ion battery projects, and Huanwen Technology's energy storage container project has officially settled in Yongren.
Pengcheng Wuxian's Yibin Energy Storage Cell Project Enters Installation and Commissioning Phase
On September 3, as engineering trucks carrying six sets of new energy capacity formation and grading equipment arrived at the plant, the cell manufacturing base of Pengcheng Wuxian New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. at the Yibin Energy Storage Industrial Park officially transitioned from construction to equipment installation and commissioning.
According to project reports, the next steps will involve unpacking inspections, equipment positioning, standalone debugging, and full-line integrated commissioning. Concurrently, efforts will focus on technical staff training, establishing quality management systems, and building supply chain support.
With a total investment of 4.8 billion yuan, Pengcheng Wuxian's Yibin Energy Storage Cell Project features a planned overall capacity of 54 GWh, constructed in phases. Phase I is expected to go into official production by the end of 2026, after which it will mass-produce 587Ah energy storage cells.
RMB 150 Million Energy Storage Container Project Signed in Yongren
On September 2, Guizhou Huanwen Technology Co., Ltd. signed an investment promotion agreement with Yongren County for an energy storage container project, with a planned investment of 150 million yuan.
Both parties will collaborate on the energy storage container project and further advance related business areas, including energy storage equipment manufacturing and new energy project development.
XBPower's RMB 250 Million Sodium-Ion Battery Project Settles in Zigong
On August 30, Beijing XBPower Technology Co., Ltd. signed a project cooperation agreement with the Sichuan Zigong High-Tech Zone for a high-performance sodium-ion battery production base, officially settling the project in the zone.
The project has a planned total investment of approximately 250 million yuan. Once completed and operating at full capacity, it is expected to yield an annual production capacity of 0.5 GWh of high-performance sodium-ion batteries.
Building on this initial phase, XBPower plans to steadily expand its capacity in line with market growth, targeting a long-term production capacity of 10 GWh.
Horizontal Na Energy Signs 6 GWh Sodium-Ion Battery Project in Mianzhu
According to the official website of the Mianzhu Municipal People's Government in Sichuan, the Mianzhu High-Tech Zone Management Committee signed an investment agreement with Huzhou Horizontal Na Energy Technology Co., Ltd. on August 28 for a 6 GWh annual capacity sodium-ion battery production line project.
Previously, on January 28, 2024, Horizontal Na Energy announced plans to invest 3 billion yuan in Mianzhu to construct an 80,000-tonne sodium-ion battery cathode material production base. The signing of this 6 GWh production line project further extends Horizontal Na Energy's sodium-ion industry footprint in Mianzhu, driving its expansion from cathode materials into battery cell manufacturing.
