Cornex New Energy Commences Operation of Phase II 80 GWh Lithium Battery Project in Yichang
On August 9, Cornex New Energy Co., Ltd. officially put Phase II of its 80 GWh lithium battery industrial park project into operation in Yichang. Located in Longquan Town, Yiling District, Yichang City, Hubei Province, the project represents a total investment of RMB 22 billion with a planned annual capacity of 80 GWh.
According to project reports, Phase II utilizes intelligent, automated production lines focusing on core product lines, including next-generation fast-charging power batteries and large-capacity energy storage batteries. Compared with Phase I, single-line production efficiency has increased by over 60%, with a projected daily output exceeding 800,000 battery cells once full capacity is reached.
Construction of Cornex New Energy's Yichang base began in 2022, with Phase I already operational. With Phase II now coming online, the overall production capacity of the Yichang base has been significantly enhanced.
Wuhan Qina's Sodium-Ion Cathode Material Project Lands in Fuzhou, Jiangxi
According to Fuzhou News, in August 2026, Wuhan Qina New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. officially established its project for an annual output of 50,000 tonnes of high-performance sodium-ion battery cathode materials in Lichuan County, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province. Representing a total investment of approximately RMB 800 million, the project is scheduled to break ground in August 2026 with a 10-month construction timeline.
Under the project plan, the facility will establish production lines for high-performance sodium-ion cathode materials while driving the construction of a sodium-ion battery technology research institute and a pilot testing platform, covering the full industrial chain of materials, cell manufacturing, and battery systems.
Founded in 2022, Wuhan Qina New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. specializes in the R&D, production, and sales of cathode materials for energy storage and power batteries, focusing on the polyanionic sodium-ion cathode material (NFPP) technological route. Currently, the company has established a thousand-tonne scale production line for nanocomposite polyanionic sodium-ion cathode materials, with products already sampled and supplied to major industry leaders such as CATL and Shuangdeng Group Co., Ltd. (Shoto).
Hebei Hanchi's 1 GWh Solid-State Battery Pilot Line Project Receives EIA Approval
On August 7, the environmental impact assessment (EIA) approval results were publicly announced for Phase I of Hebei Hanchi New Energy Co., Ltd.'s 1 GWh lithium-ion solid-state battery pilot production line project in Fuping County, Baoding City.
Located in Fuping County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, the project represents a total investment of RMB 300 million. The planned infrastructure includes one R&D center (dedicated to 6th-generation novel lithium-ion energy storage battery R&D, as well as bench-scale production and R&D for solid-state and lithium-ion batteries), one manufacturing workshop, and one warehouse. Equipped with two PACK assembly lines and supporting infrastructure, the facility will hold an annual production capacity of 1 GWh of lithium-ion batteries.
Established in April 2024, Hebei Hanchi New Energy Co., Ltd. is an enterprise focused on the new energy sector, with core business operations encompassing battery manufacturing and sales, wind power technical services, and power supply. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Beijing Bestd New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
