Zhaorui Launches 170Ah Energy Storage Sodium-Ion Cells, Now in Mass Delivery
2026-06-08 14:52

According to EnergyTrend, Zhaorui New Energy officially launched the model 71173207-170Ah sodium-ion battery cell on June 8. Developed exclusively for large-scale energy storage scenarios, this cell has now entered full-scale mass delivery and been put into practical operation at a megawatt-level energy storage project in Xizang.

In terms of corporate background, Zhaorui New Energy was jointly founded by BTR New Energy, Nanchuan Investment — a professional investment platform under South Media Group — and Panyu Investment & Development, a state-owned holding enterprise affiliated with Panyu District, Guangzhou.

Leveraging its robust material technology expertise and capital strengths, Zhaorui focuses on developing new sodium-ion battery cells for the energy storage sector. Unlike most sodium-ion products on the market that remain at the sample or pilot stage, the company’s 170Ah sodium-ion cell has achieved large-volume commercial delivery.

The product has obtained CNAS and CMA accreditations, as well as certifications complying with national standards for sodium-ion batteries used in power energy storage. Its capacity specification is compatible with mainstream energy storage container systems, helping cut costs for system integration and retrofitting.

In terms of performance, the cell features excellent wide-temperature adaptability. After 24 hours of static storage at an extreme low temperature of -40°C, its energy efficiency remains above 80.5%. The charge-discharge efficiency exceeds 96% at 5°C, and its conversion efficiency at 45°C is also higher than the requirements set by national standards.

Boasting inherent safety, the cell delivers outstanding charge-discharge efficiency and cycle life. It can effectively reduce costs for supporting facilities such as thermal management and fire protection of energy storage systems, and improve the profitability of energy storage projects.

Additionally, Zhaorui is pressing ahead with the construction of a 5GWh battery cell and energy storage equipment industrial base in Qinghai. The company will continue to advance the iteration of sodium-ion battery products to support the implementation of more large-scale energy storage projects.
