According to EnergyTrend, on March 19, the Development and Reform Commissions of Jiangxi and Gansu provinces simultaneously released the 2026 list of key construction projects. A large number of energy storage and battery industrial chain projects will be launched in the two provinces, with a planned battery capacity of more than 135GWh, covering cell manufacturing, material supporting, energy storage integration and power station construction.
Jiangxi Releases 2026 Key Energy Storage Construction Projects
On March 19, the Development and Reform Commission of Jiangxi Province announced the 2026 provincial key construction projects. According to the attached list, the plan includes multiple industrial chain projects such as energy storage integrated product manufacturing (including energy storage cabinets / PACK), battery manufacturing and lithium battery materials. Among them, the total planned capacity of battery projects exceeds 82GWh.
Notably, several projects of Ganfeng Lithium have been selected, including the new-type lithium battery research institute and Pack system integration project of Jiangxi Ganfeng Lithium Battery Technology Co., Ltd., the 10GWh/year new-type battery project of Nanchang Ganfeng Lithium Battery Technology Co., Ltd., the 10GWh pouch lithium battery project of Fenyi Ganfeng Lithium Battery Technology Co., Ltd., and the 100,000-ton/year lithium battery new energy material and integrated green intelligent production base project of Ganfeng Lithium.
In addition, energy storage projects of key enterprises such as Farasis Energy and Geely Technology are also included in the plan.
Gansu Releases 2026 Provincial Major Construction Projects
On March 19, the Development and Reform Commission of Gansu Province issued the 2026 list of provincial major construction projects.
The list shows four battery capacity construction projects, with a total capacity of more than 53GWh, and seven projects related to battery materials and new energy storage materials.
Furthermore, 13 energy storage power station projects are involved, with a total scale of 2.15GW/8GWh.
