CNGR Partners with Sunwoda, Accelerating Commercialization of Solid-State Batteries
2025-12-26 14:33

On December 25, CNGR formally signed a Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement on Solid-State Batteries with Sunwoda. This collaboration came merely two days after Sunwoda rolled off its 1,000,000th unit of 684Ah laminated large battery cell. The synergy between the two leading enterprises will accelerate the commercialization and industrialization of solid-state batteries.

Hailed as the core of the next-generation technological revolution in new energy, solid-state batteries boast core advantages of high energy density and high safety, which are addressing the range anxiety of new energy vehicles and the safety pain points of energy storage systems. Under this cooperation, the two parties will carry out in-depth collaboration in the research and development of precursor technologies, product supply, cathode material R&D as well as global capacity layout, covering the following key dimensions:

First, joint R&D of new cathode material precursors tailored for solid-state batteries, with a focus on the core demands of high energy density, high safety and long cycle life, to accurately match the application scenarios of end products including new energy vehicles and energy storage systems.

Second, leveraging their respective advantages in materials, battery manufacturing, production processes and engineering scalability, the two sides will further advance the overall R&D of solid-state batteries, ensuring the in-depth compatibility of material performance with battery performance to meet the stringent requirements of core application scenarios.

Third, on the basis of material development, integrate the capacity advantages of both parties in material production, processing and battery manufacturing, so as to accelerate the industrialization of solid-state battery materials.

In addition, Sunwoda successfully rolled off its 1,000,000th unit of 684Ah laminated battery cell on December 23. The large-scale mass production of the cell has verified Sunwoda’s core competitive advantages in battery manufacturing processes and engineering scalability. Since the mass production was launched in September this year, Sunwoda has completed the delivery of one million units in just three months, which marks that the laminated cell technology has broken through the bottleneck of large-scale mass production, and will provide safer and more reliable solutions for energy storage scenarios.
