On the evening of November 16th, Ronbay Technology issued an announcement stating that the company has recently signed a Cooperation Agreement with CATL. According to the agreement, CATL designates Ronbay Technology as its primary supplier of sodium-ion battery cathode powder. CATL commits to purchasing no less than 60% of its total procurement volume from Ronbay Technology each year, provided that Ronbay meets the relevant requirements.
Notably, the agreement also sets a cost reduction linkage mechanism for large-scale procurement. As stipulated, "when Party A’s annual procurement volume from Party B reaches 500,000 tons or more, Party B will offer Party A more preferential prices through cost reduction."
The term of the agreement is from the signing date to December 31st, 2029. It will automatically renew if both parties have no objections three months before the expiration.
It is reported that Ronbay Technology holds a leading position in sodium-ion battery cathode material technology. It has built a product portfolio covering multiple technical routes such as layered oxides and polyanions, which can meet the needs of various scenarios including power and energy storage. The company boasts significant advantages in comprehensive performance and cost control. Its products have been recognized by leading domestic and foreign battery manufacturers. The construction of the first-phase 6,000 tons/year polyanion sodium-ion cathode production line in Xiantao, Hubei is progressing smoothly. The future release of production capacity will provide stable supply for CATL.
