JA Solar, a global leader in the photovoltaic (PV) industry, has recently demonstrated significant momentum across both the solar and energy storage sectors. The company has successfully secured major overseas module supply contracts totaling 1.22 GW and simultaneously established a pivotal strategic partnership with Chune New Energy to enhance its global energy storage presence.
PV Expansion: Two Landmark Deals Totaling 1.22 GW
In a clear sign of its expanding international footprint, JA Solar clinched two substantial contracts in key foreign markets:
Uzbekistan Gigaproject: JA Solar was selected to supply the entire PV module requirement for the Samarkand 1 and 2 PV Power Plants in Uzbekistan. These projects, developed by ACWA Power and situated near the city of Samarkand, boast a combined installed capacity of 1.2 GW. The agreement was signed with Larsen & Toubro (L&T), the EPC contractor for the undertaking, underscoring JA Solar's ability to support utility-scale developments with its high-reliability products.
South Korea High-Efficiency Supply: Further boosting its presence in East Asia, JA Solar signed a cooperation agreement with South Korea's Daebo Group. This partnership supports Concord New Energy's development of a 21 MW PV power plant in Gangwon Province. For this project, JA Solar will provide its advanced DeepBlue 4.0 Pro 640W high-efficiency modules. The plant, managed by Daebo Group as the EPC contractor, is slated for grid connection in August 2026.
