Recently, Tongwei and Saudi Arabia's International Company for Water and Power Projects (ACWA POWER) made significant progress in energy cooperation by officially signing a supply agreement for the fourth phase of the MUWAYH photovoltaic (PV) project under Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). This agreement not only marks a deepening and expansion of the framework agreement signed during the 2024 SNEC International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Exhibition (Shanghai) but is also a significant achievement in high-quality joint construction under the "Belt and Road" initiative.

ACWA POWER, a global leader in power investment, development, and operation, has a business presence across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, renowned for its excellent project execution capabilities and strong commitment to renewable energy. This partnership is an important step in Tongwei and ACWA POWER's efforts to achieve a global green energy vision.

Following the framework agreement as the foundation, this collaboration represents a new milestone in the "Belt and Road" initiative

Since receiving ACWA POWER’s inquiry, Tongwei swiftly assembled a dedicated team and launched comprehensive preparatory work. Over several months of effective communication, the close cooperation and interaction across time zones demonstrated both parties' firm belief in promoting renewable energy projects and their excellent execution capabilities.

Based on this, Tongwei and ACWA POWER signed a framework agreement during the 2024 SNEC exhibition. According to the agreement, the two companies will focus on advancing photovoltaic projects, creating multi-dimensional PV application scenarios, and providing a driving force for breakthroughs in green energy transition technologies.

The supply agreement for the fourth phase of the MUWAYH PV project in Saudi Arabia is a practical step toward implementing this cooperation blueprint

Located in western Saudi Arabia, Tongwei will supply 1.175 GW of high-efficiency TNC-G12R 66 PV modules for the project, with the first shipment expected in 2025. Tongwei's high-efficiency modules, known for their excellent performance, high power generation capacity, and strong environmental adaptability, perfectly meet the project's stringent requirements for high quality, efficiency, and sustainability. The project is expected to commence commercial operations in 2027, with Tongwei's TNC-G12R 66 modules projected to generate approximately 1.6297 billion kWh of clean electricity annually, equivalent to reducing nearly 1.53503 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions. This will provide significant support for Saudi Arabia’s goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2060.

Through its vertically integrated industrial chain, Tongwei will leverage its advantages in quality, supply, and production capacity to ensure the project's success

By continuously upgrading its technology and equipment, and delivering competitively mass-produced products, Tongwei demonstrates its strong production and delivery capabilities. This will empower partners and guarantee the smooth progress of the fourth phase of the MUWAYH PV project.

In addition to supplying clean energy to Saudi Arabia, this project serves as a positive demonstration for the global application of Tongwei's large-size TNC-G12R 66 modules. Tongwei will continue to increase its investment in research and development, promote the innovation and application of PV technologies, and provide more efficient and environmentally friendly clean energy solutions to global customers, contributing to the green transformation of the global energy structure.
