Walking into the EVA encapsulation film production workshop at Nantong Tianyang Photovoltaic Materials Technology Co., Ltd., you see industrial robots waving their "arms" and AGV intelligent vehicles navigating through the workshop, handling material pick-up and delivery. Raw material granules undergo processes such as hot melting, cooling, molding, and rolling, with a 100% qualification rate by the end.

The Tianyang Photovoltaic Film Project, which was established in 2021 in the Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone, has a total investment of 1 billion yuan, covers an area of 105 acres, and has a planned total construction area of 115,000 square meters. It is a key project in Nantong City. The investor is Shanghai Tianyang Group, the only listed company in the domestic hot melt adhesive industry. The company has been in the photovoltaic encapsulation film industry for many years, has obtained more than 20 related invention patents, and has a professional R&D team of 30 people. The project is being constructed in two phases, with the first phase investing 500 million yuan to build an annual production capacity of 150 million square meters of solar encapsulation film. The second phase of the project is set to begin construction in the second half of this year. Once completed, the project will have an annual production capacity of 300 million square meters of solar encapsulation film, and it is expected to achieve an annual taxable sales revenue of 2.5 billion yuan when fully operational.

Currently, the photovoltaic industry is facing its strongest competition ever, with costs being inverted and supply-demand imbalances. In response, Nantong Tianyang is boldly seeking ways to break through by adjusting capacity distribution, scaling up production, and implementing automation upgrades to achieve cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Yang Tianfeng, Director of Human Resources and Administration at Nantong Tianyang Photovoltaic Materials Technology Co., Ltd., explained that in the first phase of the project, 15 automated production lines were introduced, each valued at over 7 million yuan, to establish a constant temperature intelligent production workshop for photovoltaic films, changing the traditional production model of crowded assembly lines.

The company has noticed that customers are increasingly demanding higher standards for product quality and production processes. The workshop uses high-definition cameras for image capture and algorithmic recognition, with the production process displayed on electronic screens in the central control room, where data is continuously refreshed. Even if an issue arises, workers only need to follow the instructions from the central control room to handle the machines, ensuring that the production line maintains optimal quality, cost, and efficiency. Thanks to the application of digital and AI technologies, production efficiency has significantly increased. Since the first phase of the project was officially put into operation in June, monthly production has reached 10 million square meters of photovoltaic cell encapsulation film, and in less than two months, sales have reached approximately 80 million yuan.
