The United Nations (UN) initiated the 2025 energy mobile plan on the 4th in order to facilitate utilization of renewable energy, and the ideal target is that 500 million individuals will receive power supply then, and 1 billion individuals would obtain clean cooking solutions.
The mobile plan also includes an increase of 100% in global renewable power generation by 2025, 30 million job opportunities in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency, as well as a significant increment in the annual global investment of clean energy.
The mobile network for energy contracts that was activated on the same day aims to connect governments who seek to attain their clean energy targets with governments and businesses who promise to provide funds, and will receive the support of UN’s energy mechanism.
The energy mechanism of UN has converged nearly 200 governments, businesses, and other private partners who have laid down promises in energy contracts for the purpose of guiding investment, professional knowledge, and resources towards the realization of these guarantees. Working with various countries, and offering solutions and services, the mechanism is an important partner for all stakeholders in attaining the sustainable development target of “ensuring the obtainment of affordable, reliable, and sustainable modern energy for everyone” by the UN.
Members of the UN’s energy mechanism include the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, International Atomic Energy Agency, United Nations Development Programme, United Nations Environment Programme, United Nations International Children’s Emergency Funds, UN Women, World Food Programme, World Health Organization, and World Bank.
