Sungrow Secures 2GW Worth of PV and Energy Storage Equipment Contract from Solar Juice

Sungrow announced on May 6 via a press release that it has entered a supply contract with Solar Juice. Under the contract, Sungrow will provide 2GW worth of PV inverters, energy storage systems, energy storage batteries, etc. to Solar Juice, which is one of its long-term distribution partners in Australia. In effect, Solar Juice will be able to offer the entire range of products from Sungrow. Sungrow calls the deal “the largest and the most comprehensive one” in the Australian solar market to date.

Sungrow and Solar Juice are banking on the growing demand related to the installation of PV systems on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Furthermore, Sungrow is also an Australian brand (though a part of its operation is based in China). The inking of this huge contract therefore indicates that the Australian solar market has rising confidence in domestic brands. Sungrow also expects a significant boost in its domestic market share with this deal.

Rami Fedda, director of Solar Juice, said that the 2GW contract is a milestone in its partnership with Sungrow. Fedda pointed out the residential, commercial, and industrial segments of the Australian solar market are all growing rapidly. Hence, Solar Juice wants to take advantage of the strong existing installation demand and support the acceleration of the country’s transition to low-carbon energies. Fedda also said that there is already a long-established foundation of cooperation between the two companies. Based on the previous business deals, Solar Juice now fully trusts Sungrow’s products and services, especially in terms of quality. Solar Juice is therefore looking forward to the latest collaboration.

In related news, Sungrow has been tapped by ACWA Power to provide inverters for a 45.75MW PV power plant in Saudi Arabia. This PV power plant will support the operation of the Jubail 3A Independent Water Plant, which is also being developed a consortium led by ACWA Power. The inking of this contract was announced on April 22.
