EnergyTrend learned that on the evening of August 26, Sunwoda disclosed its 2026 semi-annual report and released its investor relations activity record.

During the reporting period, the company achieved operating revenue of 38.179 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 41.48%; net profit attributable to the parent company reached 603 million yuan, down 29.59% year-on-year; and net profit deducting non-recurring gains and losses was 97.26 million yuan, down 83.32% year-on-year.

Among them, the energy storage system business maintained rapid growth. In the first half of 2026, the company's energy storage system achieved operating revenue of 1.770 billion yuan, up 76.21% year-on-year; energy storage system shipments reached 14.7 GWh, up 64.98% year-on-year.

Overseas markets have become an important driving force for energy storage business growth. The company stated that energy storage system revenue mainly comes from overseas markets, with overseas customers accounting for over 70%. Batch deliveries for core overseas customer projects drove sustained business growth. Meanwhile, the company's global project delivery and localized service capabilities were further enhanced.

Sunwoda continues to advance its global capacity layout, having established production bases in India, Vietnam, Thailand, Morocco, Hungary, and other regions. Among them, Phase I of the battery production base in Thailand was officially put into operation during the reporting period, with Phase II launched simultaneously; the consumer battery cell production base in Vietnam is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2026, and the EV battery production base in Hungary is also being constructed step-by-step.

In terms of products and R&D, the company continuously iterates around energy storage cells such as 314Ah, 280Ah, 588Ah, and 684Ah, as well as system products including 3.125 MWh and 6.25 MWh containers and battery packs. It completed large-scale fire testing for 5 MWh liquid-cooled energy storage containers and advanced capability building in component lifespan evaluation, fire simulation models, utility-scale storage empirical testing platforms, power electronics simulation platforms, and self-integration of PCS step-up integrated machines, continuously enhancing product safety, reliability, and system-level solution capabilities.

As of the end of June, the company's inventory stood at 16.328 billion yuan, an increase of 51.77% compared to the end of 2025. The company stated in investor communications that the inventory growth was mainly due to strategic stockpiling. Owing to the continuous rise in raw material prices, and to match business growth in the third and fourth quarters of 2026, the company actively began stockpiling at the beginning of the year.

In addition to traditional energy storage business, AIDC backup power has also become a key strategic direction for the company. Sunwoda stated in investor communications that market demand for AIDC backup power began growing rapidly at the end of 2025. The company made relevant layouts as early as around 2015 and has currently established cooperative relationships with mainstream domestic cloud service providers, internet enterprises, and data center colocation providers.
