Indonesia‘s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) has enacted the law MEMR 26/2021 that improves the net metering legislation for rooftop PV. It is the third time to amend net metering rules in three years.
According to the new rules, the PV net metering factor is increased from 0.65 to 100, with the credit accumulation period from three to six months.
The nation’s PV capacity stood at around 172 MW at the end of last year, according to the International Renewable Energy Agency. Just 17 MW of solar power was deployed in the country in 2020.
