After the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the US-China anti-dumping and countervailing final determination on the 17th, the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) decides to organize an investment seminar for Taiwan PV developers/producers at this sensitive timing. It seems that the U.S. is intended to invite Taiwan manufacturers to build production sites in the U.S.
AIT sent invitations to PV professions, welcoming them to join “the U.S. solar PV market analysis and investment seminar” held by AIT. AIT also indicated that the rapid growth in the U.S. PV residential and commercial markets shows the tremendous potentials in PV products. They believe it’s the right time to invest, build sales locations and production sites in the U.S.. They further notified that those that invest in the U.S. production lines can participate in a government project called BuyUSA.
“After the final result for the US-China trade war is announced, Taiwan shipments to the U.S. will definitely be affected. But AIT’s investment seminar seems to open up a new door for Taiwan manufacturers,” said Angus Kao, research manager at EnergyTrend, a division of the Taiwan-based market intelligence firm TrendForce.
