CSUN will give an overview of the Turkish PV Market – Expectations, Developments and Challenges during the Global PV Markets: Europe Session taking place on the 2nd of June from 12.00h to 13.35 in the ICM, room 14 A.
Looking at the Turkish electricity market, demand and supply patterns and the expected future development the presentation evaluates the role PV take within this market. It evaluate the economic attractiveness of solar by comparing the LCOE of PV to current and expected future electricity prices and puts the Turkish situation in conjunction to other PV markets, mainly Italy and Germany - all three of them sharing the fact that solar has by now become an economically viable option in certain segments, independent of feed-in tariffs, but has not taken off to the logically implied extent. Comparing the general attractiveness and expectations for the market the presentation will also look at the challenges and discuss the current obstacles to PV growth and will summarize with a conclusion and outlook on what needs to be addressed to exploit the full potential of the Turkish solar market.
