The glass-glass module, the SolarWorld Kit easy and flexible energy storage are new concepts being presented by the leading European manufacturer in Frankfurt.
Individual customer benefits are the focus of the product innovations being presented by SolarWorld AG at the ISH in Frankfurt from March 12 to 16.
The benefits for customers stretch from extended guarantees and improved module performance to the simplifying of logistics and greater independence thanks to storage solutions.
Glass-glass module: Benefits through guarantee and performance
From the second half of the year, SolarWorld AG will supplement its product range with the glass-glass module “Sunmodule Protect”. The outstanding characteristic of the new premium module is that it features glass both at the front and the rear. With the new product, Solarworld is also extending the guaranteed use period for solar modules. For Sunmodule Protect, the linear performance guarantee is extended five years to 30 years. Thanks to the low annual degradation of just 0.35 percent, the energy yield over the service life is higher than proven glass-film modules. After 30 years, SolarWorld guarantees that its premium product will still provide 86.85 percent of the initial performance. By using glass both at the front and the rear of the module, the embedded solar cells are optimally protected against pressure and tensile forces. The glass-glass modules not only have better mechanical durability, they are also significantly better protected against environmental factors.
The Sunmodule Protect has the same dimensions and is just as light as the glass-film module despite having an additional sheet of glass, making handling and installation easy.

Standard kit: Benefits through simplicity
Quick, practical, cheap – the new standard kit "SolarWorld Kit easy", with which the company will offer an addition to the array of products in the future, can be described in this manner. The new compact set consists of SolarWorld Sunmodule Plus poly modules, the Sunfix plus mounting frame, cables and plugs which are all packed on one EUR-pallet. It is available in three sizes – packages with 16, 20 or 24 modules are available, depending on requirements. It has an installed system capacity of four, five or six kWp with the current SW 250 poly standard modules.
The advantages of the new kit concept are apparent. The space-saving packaging on a EUR-pallet optimizes and simplifies storage for customers. Thanks to stocking and the elimination of individual technical order planning, delivery times are shortened significantly and compact packaging reduces the risk of shipping damages to a minimum.
Battery storage: Benefits through independence
As the first manufacturer worldwide, SolarWorld AG has had a complete battery system included in the program since the beginning of 2011. The SunPac 2.0, the follow-up to the SunPac S which was awarded the German Energy Efficiency Prize, will now be introduced. The new SunPac 2.0 system is the first to integrate charging and discharging functions into a three-phase storage inverter. An additional charge controller is no longer needed. Efficiency is increased. With a storage capacity of 11.6 kWh, the lead-gel battery can store enough solar power to supply green electricity to a four person family from sunset until the next sunrise. Self-consumption can be increased to up to 80 percent. This independence leads to permanent, calculable energy costs. Rising electricity prices are moderated significantly.
