Power-One Introduces Aurora TRIO-20.2 and TRIO-27.6 at Solar Power International
2012-09-12 16:29

Power-One, Inc. (Nasdaq:PWER), a leading provider of renewable energy and energy-efficient power conversion and power management solutions, has announced the introduction of its new UL1741-certified commercial string inverters, the Aurora TRIO-20.2 and TRIO-27.6. These inverters are ideal solutions for customers who desire the power of a traditional central inverter, but have a need for string inverters for installations.

The TRIO 20.2 and TRIO 27.6 are powerful, flexible and dependable alternative solutions for commercial rooftop installations, all in a single-string inverter designed to lower system LCOE and improve ROI on commercial solar rooftop installations. Additionally, these inverters operate at an industry-leading 97.5 percent CEC efficiency, and boast two independent maximum power point trackers (MPPT) to deliver exceptional production.

"We are excited to bring the Aurora TRIO commercial string inverters to the U.S.," said Paolo Casini, vice president of product marketing at Power-One. "With over one GW of Aurora TRIO inverters installed around the world, the Aurora TRIO platform is a proven reliable performer designed to lower system LCOE and to accelerate return on commercial solar rooftop installations."

The Aurora TRIO is available in models at 20.0 kW and 27.6 kW which can be used alone for a 20 kW system or combined as building blocks for systems as large as 240kW. The systems can use Power-One's fast and precise maximum power point tracking algorithm, which will produce more power during variable weather conditions. The extended operating temperature range means the TRIO produces full output power in temperature extremes. Backed by a 10-year standard warranty, integrators and system owners can have confidence in the operation of the TRIO.

The TRIO weighs in at only 165 pounds and features a wall-mountable design that can be installed by two people in a few short hours. The wall-mountable design and NEMA4X environmental rating of the Aurora TRIO means an integrator has the flexibility to use the Aurora TRIO in installations where mounting an inverter on a concrete pad is not possible and vulnerable to windblown dust, air with extreme levels of humidity or spraying water and rain. The inverters also feature a dual channel RS485 communications system, and can be simultaneously monitored by two different devices or controlled and monitored by two different parties.

The Aurora TRIO-20.0 and 27.6 will ship to distributors in the U.S. in Q4 2012.
