On September 15, Hainan's largest independent shared energy storage station project officially commenced construction. Located at Plot 5 in Datong Industrial Park, Tunchang County, Hainan Province (east of the Hainan-Yulin Central Highway), the 200MW/800MWh independent shared energy storage station project by Tunchang Hengneng Century New Energy Co., Ltd. involves a total investment of 850 million yuan and covers a planned land area of 60 mu.

The project plans to construct a 200MW/800MWh independent shared energy storage power station utilizing lithium iron phosphate battery systems. Employing prefabricated modular assembly, the site will include a production office building, a dormitory building, and a 220kV step-up substation. The entire project is divided into 20 storage zones, each with a capacity of 10MW/40MWh.

Upon completion, the project will collaborate with enterprises like China Southern Power Grid and research institutions to advance R&D and application of key technologies such as energy storage system integration and intelligent regulation. This will accelerate Tunchang County's transition from traditional energy consumption to an integrated “source-grid-load-storage” model, enhance grid peak-shaving and frequency regulation capabilities, improve renewable energy absorption levels, and provide technological support for regional energy structure optimization.
