PEP Stations LLC, a provider of premium electric vehicle charging stations has announced that its PEP Stations PS2000 – a dual Level 2 commercial electric vehicle charging station – has achieved ETL certification to UL 2231-1, UL 2231-2 and UL Subject 2594.

Certification was carried out by Intertek, a leading testing laboratory serving a wide range of industries around the world. "PEP Stations, successfully tested by Intertek, meets all relevant EVSE UL compliance standards,” commented James Blain, president of PEP Stations LLC. “In our opinion, PEP Stations are a best-in-class product with a feature rich, cutting edge design. Engineered by our world-class development partner, Ricardo, our charging stations are also designed to be safe and reliable."

The PEP Station is a DUAL Level 2 electric vehicle charging station designed to be user friendly, indestructible, identifiable and cost effective. Each PEP Station is capable of charging two vehicles simultaneously at 240V each via national standard SAE J1772 connectors. Consequently, each respective site will require half the charge stations and will pay about half the price for installation when compared to competing charging stations. Each PEP Station can be configured to provide free or pay-per-use access with either an access or a credit card. No subscription service is required.

Recent clients for PEP Stations include the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, NV., Hershey's Chocolate World, Hershey, PA., The Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C., and LA Center Studios in Los Angeles, CA.

“We are extremely pleased to have participated in this collaboration with PEP Stations LLC and congratulate them on the successful certification of the PS2000,” commented Kent Niederhofer, president of Ricardo’s North American subsidiary that has led this engineering project. “As we move toward an era of increasing electrification of road transportation in support of efforts to improve energy independence and reduce reliance on fossil fuels, the provision of a safe and effective charging infrastructure for plug-in vehicles will be a crucial enabler for their success. The PEP Station product, engineered in collaboration with Ricardo, is exactly the type of innovation that will help meet this need and based on initial market feedback, will be extremely attractive to both building owners and EV users alike.”
