New Brussels Office to Strengthen Vestas’ EU Stakeholder Relationships and EU Presence
2011-07-05 14:52

Vestas Government Relations has officially opened the Vestas Wind Systems A/S Representative Office in Brussels, Belgium to improve Vestas representation with EU stakeholders and lawmakers. The Representative Office is headed by Emmanuelle Raoult, Director of EU Affairs, with support from Vestas Group Government Relations, based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

“The office will represent Vestas in all EU-related policy affairs, and be a partner to all Vestas' stakeholders to assist in the advancement of a renewable energy future in Europe.” Emmanuelle Raoult explains, and SVP Peter C. Brun adds:

“Vestas Government Relations has been actively engaged in EU affairs for several years since the creation of the department in 2005, but the opening of the new Representative Office is a recognition of the enhanced role Vestas can hold in advocacy and lobbying activities with EU stakeholders by establishing a permanent presence in Brussels.”

In the ever-changing world of EU energy legislation and regulation, the Brussels office will allow for more effective communication, quicker response time to the changing legislative landscape, and strengthened relationships with Vestas customers and legislative stakeholders.

The EU Representative Office, given its expertise in policy issues, will hold the authority as coordinator of all Vestas EU lobbying activities, and should in general be advised about BU’s ongoing EU activities. In order to ensure lobbying activities originating from departments across the company remain consistent with Vestas’ global interests and overall EU strategy, all EU lobbying activities should be approved and coordinated by the EU Representative Office prior to undertaking any engagement with EU stakeholders.
