Alstom Hydro has just signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RusHydro, Russia’s largest power generation company, to participate in the development of the Russian hydropower industry.
The MoU includes a decision by both parties to consider possibilities of cooperation with respect to the reconstruction and refurbishment of several operating Russian hydropower plants, including pumped storage plants, as well as optimisation and maintenance.
Specifically, as a potential first case, Alstom and RusHydro have agreed to consider how they could cooperate on the modernisation of the Kubanski cascade Hydropower complex in the South of Russia and the new pump storage plant (2 x 70MW) at Zelenchuk.
In addition, Alstom and Rushydro are outlining ways for cooperation in hydropower research and development.
