The fourth edition of Building Solar China is scheduled to be held from 23 – 25 September at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Shanghai. The fair is committed to the promotion of smart and solar building technologies by providing a comprehensive platform for the solar building industry. Highlighted topics for the upcoming edition include solar building energy infrastructure, solar building smart solutions, and solar building services.

Building Solar China advocates the use of photovoltaic technologies, particularly in buildings. In order to let visitors experience first-hand the current applications of smart solar building solutions, Special Committee of Solar Buildings, CRES will host on-site visits to a number of solar building projects. Furthermore, the show is also supported by various reputable associations and organisations including Asian Institute of Intelligent Buildings (AIIB), Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA), Hong Kong Association of Energy Engineers (HKAEE), Shenzhen Solar Energy Society and SOLARZOOM.
The 2014 edition enjoyed a successful turnout. It welcomed some of the industry’s leading companies including Zhuhai Singyes Green Building Technology Co Ltd, Advanced Solar Power (Hangzhou) Inc, China Sustainable Construction Group Co Ltd, Jiangsu Chendian Solar Opto-Electronic Co Ltd and others. In addition to the aforementioned exhibitors, the fair also attracted a large number of high-level building contractors, system integrators, architects, designers and planners.
High-level conferences offer the latest market intelligence and business opportunities
Building Solar China’s high-level conference plays a significant role in the development of the show. Each year, the show’s organisers gather some of the sectors’ leading players from businesses and academia to share their news on a variety of concurrent events. Some of the speakers who shared their invaluable insight with visitors in the previous edition include Mr Meng Xian Gan, Vice President of the China Renewable Energy Society (CRES), Mr Nikos Fintikakis, UIA Council Member, and Mr Xu Ning, Vice Chairman of Shenzhen Solar Energy Society. For the 2015 show, the conference will be held on 24 September. It will once again gather prominent industry experts from leading enterprises and associations who are prepared to share their insight on some of the market’s latest trends, policies and industry development.
Mr Chen Shu Zi, Research Institute Power Equipment and New Energy Analyst from Everbright Securities Co Ltd spoke about his experience at the 2014 show. Solar building technologies enjoy bountiful market opportunities worldwide
Over the years, solar building technologies and green-related industries have been enjoying immense market opportunities due to the increased level of concern towards environmental issues worldwide. According to a recent report published by Transparency Market Research (TMR), the annual installations of solar buildings are anticipated to reach 1,152.3 MW by the end of 2019. The industry is expected to register a compound annual growth rate of 18.7% between 2013 and 2019.
Furthermore, China’s announcement of the “Further Implementation of Distributed Photovoltaic-related Policies” stresses the importance of distributed photovoltaic power. As a result, smart, green and low-carbon towns will start to emerge and dominate the future of China’s urban development, paving the way for robust growth of the solar industry.
Building Solar China is held concurrently with ISH Shanghai & CIHE, Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology and the Shanghai International Lighting Fair, which are collectively known as the “Intelligent Green Building – IGB“ exhibition platform. Last year, the platform received more than 40,000 professional buyers from 63 countries and regions, constituting the biggest one-stop platform for intelligent building technologies and energy-efficient solutions in East China.
In the ‘Environmental Technology’ Division, Messe Frankfurt groups together eight trade fairs for water, waste, air and ground management, as well as renewable energies, and thus ranks among the world’s leading organisers of events for environmental technology.
