Held alongside Eco Expo Asia, the premier international trade exhibition for green business in Asia, Eco Asia Conference facilitates market intelligence exchange of the latest cross-regional government policies and technological developments in the environmental protection sector.
Sessions addressing the most challenging environmental issues, industry development and business opportunities across Asia include:
Government Related Session
The Honourable Wong Kam-sing, JP and Secretary for the Environment of the Hong Kong SAR Government, and Dr Walter Steinmann, Director of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy in Switzerland, will deliver keynote speeches on global sustainability development.
Mr Zhao Hualin, Head of the Planning and Finance Department for the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People’s Republic of China, and Mr Gao Yunhu, Head of the Energy Conservation and Resources Utilization Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, will also share their thoughts in “Green Policies and Needs on Chinese Mainland”.
Eco Smart City
The development of technologically advanced smart cities is dependent on the incorporation of sustainable and environmental protection concepts.
Dr Justin Chuang, Vice President and Group Director of Communications Technologies Group, Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI), will deliver his ideas at “Building Eco Smart City with Information and Communications (ICT) Technologies”.
Waste Management & Recycling
Ground-breaking techniques, tools and strategies focused on improving corporate environmental performance and industry practices are imperative to waste management.
Mr Peter Caswell, Chairman at Repãrator Pty Ltd from Australia, will share his thoughts during “KISS: Keep It Small, Simple & Safe – the Waste Water Recovery”.
Sustainable Energy & Energy Efficiency
Energy efficiency is vital to a sustainable future. This session reviews the development path of alternative energy solutions, as well as touches on energy efficiency and applications.
Ms Maisoun Jabali, Counsellor and Head of the CSR Centre and Centre for Environmental Technology (Centec), Economic Section, Embassy of Sweden in Beijing, will speak at “From Fossil Dependence to Energy Efficiency and Bio-domination in Four Decades”.
Green Building
Natural resource limitations and pollution are top concerns. This session advocates building construction using green design concepts and reusable materials to reduce resource depletion.
Ms Charu Sharma, Senior Landscape Architect at Stevens & Associates will present her expertise during “San Francisco Public Utilities Commission Headquarters – The Greenest Urban Building in the United States”.
