As many of us are aware of the socio-economic and environmental issues facing the UK currently such as the rising energy prices, security of supply & fuel poverty - just to name a few – has led to the UK energy value chain undergoing a multi-decade transformation.

Decarbonising this industry is now a key Government priority and legislation are one of many ways the Government are encouraging the transitions. Take for instance, Feed-in-Tariffs (FiTs) – statistics proves the popularity of the scheme resulted in nearly 380,000 green power projects such as solar panels and wind turbines being installed across UK homes and businesses between 2010 to 2013.

These figures reveal the true scale of the UK’s decentralised energy market and it is fascinating to hear that the UK decentralised energy market is now expected to grow by 130% between 2010 and 2030.

As a helpful tool to demonstrate the UK’s energy consumption trends and future expectations, Decentralised Energy has put together an exciting infographic with various useful facts and statistics.

This infographic is brought to you by Climate Action in partnership with United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as hosts of the 2nd annual Decentralised Energy Innovation Showcase held on 2-3 February 2015 at ILEC Conference Centre in London.
