Creating Green Wealth through The Region’s LARGEST Exhibition on Green Technology (IGEM 2014)

Building on the resounding success in its previous editions, the fifth edition of the IGEM series – IGEM2014 is once again making wave in heralding a multitude of strategic, high impact events and activities from October 16 – 19, 2014 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, Malaysia. 

Taking cognizance that a green economy will maximize value and growth across the whole economy, while managing natural assets sustainably, IGEM 2014 is aptly themed “Creating Green Wealth” which connotes close intertwine between sustainability and national wealth where human wealth should be tampered with a goal of enabling future generations to sustain current wealth. To allow businesses to reap the maximum benefits from the emerging green technologies for near- and mid-term profits and economic gains, IGEM 2014 is set to rack up another notch in its standing as a hotbed in facilitating green growth, while providing a dynamic platform for them to explore business collaboration, forge strategic partnership and networking with the relevant parties. 

Growing bigger in size and value proposition, IGEM2014 will present over 600 booths with participation of more than 200 companies from over 20 countries and regions. Spanning across 6 halls, IGEM 2014 also welcomes 6 International Pavilions, including EU, Japan, Korea KEITI, Korea KEPA, Singapore and Taiwan, which will showcase a diverse range of ingenious solutions and latest innovations incorporating green technology that are commercially viable and readily available for adoption and application among local and foreign industries, as well as for the public. 

Anticipated to host over 60,000 visitors from around the world including the United States of America to Europe, South Africa, UAE, the Asian regions and beyond, IGEM’s well-structured halls provide a focus on major green tech sectors including:

  2. Water and waste management;
  3. Eco products and services;
  4. Green transportation & logistics;
  5. Green building and interiors; and
  6. Green ICT & Finance

This year, IGEM will see world-class organizations participating in a big way. Just to name a few, they include Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Itramas, Q-Cells,  Cypark Resources, Malaysian Solar Resources and more from the clean energy sector; UMW Toyota, DreamEDGE from the  transportation sector. Other key industry players include Panasonic, Hitachi, Fuji Xerox and etc. Other than this, IGEM 2014 will also have strong representation from various green NGOs, Government ministries and agencies, SIRIM, MARDI and MIDA; Trade association such as Waste Management Association of Malaysia (WMAM) and Malaysian Photovoltaic Industry Association (MPIA).

Besides promoting international, country and Malaysian States pavilions, a wide array of special programs and activities will also be held during IGEM2014 for the benefits of participants and visitors alike. These include the Minister-Industry Dialogue, high-level Green Technology Conference, Networking Cocktail, Seminars, Workshops and other value-added programmes.
