SINGAPORE – From 25 – 27 September 2013, Build+Con Myanmar (BCM) 2013 will make its premiere presentation at the Myanmar Convention Center (MCC) in Yangon, Myanmar.

With Myanmar opening its doors and undergoing economic reforms and transformation, there is much that this country has to offer to its local businesses and foreign companies.

Largely driven by residential and infrastructural sectors, Myanmar’s construction industry currently makes up about 80% of the total industry’s value, valued at close to US$3 billion, and is expected to experience a 46% growth to US$4.2 billion by 2016.

Growth in building and construction sectors is also expected to experience accelerated growth in the next five years with the government’s streamlined focus on developing infrastructure with the aim of supporting the nation’s growth at an integral and crucial level.

The combination of these factors makes Myanmar’s vibrant construction industry highly desirable for its projected growth and value. As such, Singapore will present Build+Con Myanmar 2013, a spearheading platform designed to delve into the emerging market that is brimming with opportunities in the building and construction industries.

Organised by Conference & Exhibition Management Services (CEMS) Pte Ltd, this exhibition will showcase the latest cutting edge technologies and equipment for the building, construction and manufacturing industries – key drivers of the economy in the modernizing Myanmar.

Exhibitors will also be able to explore opportunities for business collaborations with local companies, as well as take a closer look at prime areas for investment in the local building and construction industries.

“We hope that through this platform, regional companies, especially those from Singapore, will be able to engage in technology advancement and knowledge transfer to help further develop the local businesses, which would in turn aid the enhancement of efficiency and productivity in Myanmar. The increased access to aid and trade could also provide Myanmar with the ability to realise its potential and develop further into the next emerging market in Southeast Asia,” said Edward Liu, PBM, Group Managing Director of CEMS.

BCM 2013 will also be held concurrently with Myanmar Manufacturing Expo 2013, the first international manufacturing machinery, equipment and technology exhibition. Together, these two
exhibitions will provide a cohesive, one-stop platform to source for all building, construction and
manufacturing needs.
