320Ah Energy Storage Battery will be Put Into Mass Production in October This Year
2023-09-06 16:26

EnergyTrend has received information that REPT is gearing up for the mass production of its Wending 320Ah battery, scheduled to commence this October. This milestone is set to usher in a new era of high-capacity energy storage batteries.
The Wending 320Ah energy storage battery represents the latest addition to REPT’s energy storage series, boasting four key advantages: impressive capacity, extended cycle life, exceptional compatibility, and cost-effectiveness. Furthermore, the production of the Wending battery necessitates the amalgamation of several critical technologies, including advancements in battery structure, process, and equipment technology, as well as the achievement of a stable solid-liquid interface.
Thanks to REPT’s proprietary technology, the 320Ah Wending energy storage battery, despite maintaining the same dimensions as a 280Ah square battery, delivers outstanding performance in terms of high energy output, extended lifespan, and enhanced safety. It boasts a volumetric energy density of 400Wh/L, can undergo 8,000-10,000 cycles without deterioration, and offers a calendar life of over 20 years.
The test data of the first 320Ah battery sample has been published
The initial test results for the first 320Ah battery sample have been unveiled. Based on the sample tests conducted for REPT’s core clientele, it is evident that the 320Ah battery, while retaining the same size as other batteries, exhibits a substantial increase in capacity. Furthermore, in discharge tests conducted at 25℃, its actual capacity surpasses 335Ah, marking a remarkable 4% improvement over the 314Ah battery.
Measured data from samples sent to Customers

During the extensive energy efficiency test conducted over an extended duration, the 320Ah energy storage battery consistently maintains a remarkable energy efficiency level of 95%. In the 0.5P/0.5P cycle test, this battery demonstrates exceptional high-temperature cycle performance, showcasing a reliable cycle life exceeding 10,000 cycles. Notably, even in specific scenarios, such as instances of runaway air conditioning, the battery exhibits a noteworthy resistance to thermal failures, significantly enhancing its reliability and safety.
Large-capacity batteries offer distinct advantages in the centralized energy storage sector, primarily due to their higher volumetric energy density and greater potential for cost reduction. Particularly for integrators, the adoption of high-capacity batteries translates into enhanced energy density and a reduced requirement for batteries and PACK components while maintaining the same capacity. Consequently, expenses related to land infrastructure, containers, and other associated costs can be significantly lowered.
Simultaneously, the core back-end integration assembly process can be streamlined, resulting in effective cost reduction. This, in turn, contributes to an overall reduction in the energy storage system’s cost. Furthermore, the utilization of large-capacity batteries reduces the need for a complex series-parallel connection of batteries, simplifying BMS (Battery Management System) management. This simplification not only facilitates more accessible data collection but also enhances the monitoring accuracy of the BMS, ultimately bolstering system security.
Certified by Three Major International Standards
In early July, REPT proudly announced the successful certification of its Wending 320Ah energy storage battery by three prominent international bodies: TÜV Rheinland, UL 1973, UL 9540A, and IEC 62619:2022. This milestone signifies that the Wending 320Ah energy storage battery has met rigorous international safety standards, effectively granting it access to the global market.
Certification Documents

UL 1973, a North American safety standard for energy storage battery systems, holds the distinction of being bi-nationally recognized by ANSI in the United States and SCC in Canada. Furthermore, this standard enjoys acknowledgment in other regions, including Australia’s CEC. Products bearing this certification can seamlessly penetrate the North American and Australian markets.
UL 9540A stands as one of the most authoritative and rigorous standards for assessing thermal runaway and flame spread in battery energy storage systems within the global energy storage industry. Moreover, it represents a pivotal means of validating the safety of energy storage products, receiving recognition from the U.S. National Fire Protection Agency, the federal judiciary, and various energy storage associations worldwide. Consequently, it has emerged as an indispensable ticket for accessing not only the North American market but also the global arena.

IEC 62619, on the other hand, belongs to the IEC standard system and serves as a safety benchmark for batteries utilized in industrial equipment. It currently stands as the prevailing international technical standard governing the safety of energy storage batteries, encompassing safety requirements related to these crucial energy storage components.

REPT will put Wending 320Ah Battery into Mass Production in October this year
In May of this year, REPT introduced both its Wending 320Ah and 340Ah storage battery series simultaneously. Presently, the certification and testing of the 320Ah batteries have been successfully completed, yielding outstanding multi-dimensional data. Mass production is slated to commence in October of this year. According to REPT’s plans, another dedicated production line will come online in December, with the aim of achieving a monthly output of 1 million units of the 320Ah Wending energy storage batteries by the end of 2023. This marks a significant milestone in heralding a new era for high-capacity energy storage batteries.

The industry’s constant pursuit revolves around cost reduction and efficiency enhancement. The development of large-capacity batteries represents an inevitable trend. While cost reduction remains a priority, it is imperative to consider key parameters such as safety, service life, and energy density in the realm of energy storage batteries. This serves as a critical lesson for core battery enterprises.
