According to EnergyTrend, on October 26, the Chuzhou Ecology and Environment Bureau released the pre-approval public notice for the Environmental Impact Report Form of Trina Storage (Chuzhou) Co., Ltd.’s Project of Annual 100GWh Integrated Cabin (Energy Storage System) Production and R&D Center.

Information from the public notice shows that the energy storage project is developed by Trina Storage (Chuzhou) Co., Ltd. and located in Chuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, Chuzhou City, Anhui Province. The project will lease approximately 100,000 square meters of factory space and plans to procure PACK production lines, integrated cabin production lines and supporting equipment for cell R&D.

A previous EIA public notice issued on September 17 revealed that Trina Storage (Chuzhou) intends to invest RMB 3.5 billion in this project. Upon completion, the project will deliver an annual production capacity of 100GWh of energy storage system integrated cabins.

In addition, an R&D center will be built to conduct research and industrial development of lithium-ion battery technologies featuring high energy density, long cycle life and high safety.

The project’s planned construction period is 12 months. In line with the EIA approval procedures, the public may submit written comments to the Chuzhou Ecology and Environment Bureau during the pre-approval publicity period. If no major objections are raised during the public consultation, the project will subsequently obtain the official EIA approval document.
