According to EnergyTrend, five enterprises including Great Power, Guangdong Baiyi Times, Greater Bay Technology, Ningjiadi and Wanhua (Weifang) New Energy have recently made new progress in their energy storage projects, covering energy storage cells, solid-state batteries, sodium-ion batteries and lithium iron phosphate material projects.
Great Power’s Fengpeng 587Ah Cell Rolls Off Production Line
On October 10, Great Power held a mass production roll-off ceremony for its Fengpeng 587Ah cell at Phase II workshop of its Quzhou Zero-Carbon Factory, marking that Great Power’s large energy storage cells have entered the stage of mass production and delivery.
It is reported that the Fengpeng cell series is Great Power’s flagship product developed for large-scale energy storage scenarios. The cells have passed multiple stringent safety tests including nail penetration, thermal runaway and overcharge, and obtained UN38.3 certification.
Phase II of Great Power’s Quzhou Industrial Park was completed in 2025. Adopting the “ALL-IN-ONE” integrated model for energy storage system manufacturing, the park realizes the whole process of core cell production, PACK assembly and system integration within the same industrial zone.
Maoming Baiyi Times Lithium Battery Production Base Gets Filing Approval
According to the Development and Reform Bureau of Dianbai District, on October 13, the filing review of Baiyi Times’ lithium battery production base was approved.
The project has a total investment of 120 million yuan. It is located in Workshop No.2, Madianhe New Energy Storage Industrial Park, Lingmen Town, Dianbai District.
The project developer is Guangdong Baiyi Times New Energy Co., Ltd. Covering a total land area of 10,000 square meters with a construction area of 40,000 square meters, the project will build 3 new lithium battery production lines with an annual lithium battery capacity of approximately 1.25 GWh.
Greater Bay Technology’s GWh-scale All-Solid-State Battery Production Line Put into Operation
On October 13, Greater Bay Technology’s GWh-scale all-solid-state battery production line was officially put into operation in Nansha, Guangzhou, with the first batch of all-solid-state cells rolling off the line.
This production line was renovated partially from an existing 4 GWh liquid lithium battery production line. The main manufacturing processes and equipment are largely retained, with core modifications focused on electrolyte injection and curing processes. The upgraded line supports flexible switching between solid and liquid batteries, enabling production scheduling of conventional liquid batteries and all-solid-state batteries according to market demand.
Ningjiadi’s Sodium-ion Battery Base in Chengdu Commences Operation
On October 11, Ningjiadi’s Southwest Integrated Sodium-ion Intelligent Manufacturing Base in Xinjin Economic Development Zone was put into production and operation.
The Chengdu base of Ningjiadi is planned with three core functional sections: cell production area, PACK assembly area and Southwest Operation & Maintenance Center. Equipped with fully automatic integrated intelligent manufacturing lines and intelligent testing equipment, the base has an annual capacity of 100,000 sets of sodium-ion cells and energy storage PACKs. Upon full capacity, the project is expected to generate an annual output value exceeding 100 million yuan.
At present, Ningjiadi has established a joint laboratory together with the Institute of Carbon Neutrality Technology Innovation of Wenzhou University to carry out university-local-enterprise collaborative technological research. Meanwhile, it conducts field verification relying on its Nenjiang low-temperature base to continuously optimize product stability.
600,000 Tons/Year Lithium Iron Phosphate Project in Weifang Wins EIA Approval
On October 8, Weifang Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment issued an approval decision on the environmental impact report for the 600,000 tons/year lithium iron phosphate project.
With a total investment of 7.44 billion yuan, the project is developed by Wanhua (Weifang) New Energy Materials Technology Co., Ltd. Located in Yangkou Advanced Manufacturing Park, Shouguang City, it is a new construction project.
The project is planned in three phases. Phase I will form an annual lithium iron phosphate capacity of 120,000 tons upon completion; Phase II will add another 240,000 tons per year; Phase III will deliver 240,000 tons per year. After full completion and operation, the plant will achieve a total annual output of 600,000 tons of battery-grade lithium iron phosphate. Its products are mainly applied in power batteries and energy storage batteries.
