Recently, major clean energy and battery firms—including CATL, Sungrow, Desay Intelligent Energy Storage, and Far East Smarter Energy—have successively disclosed updates on their latest energy storage system (ESS) orders.
CATL Secures Another 3 GWh Sodium-Ion Battery Order
Recently, CATL signed an agreement with German energy storage system integrator INTILION. Under the agreement, the two companies plan to collaborate over the next five years to develop energy storage projects across the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) using CATL’s sodium-ion battery solutions, targeting a total capacity of up to 3 GWh.
According to disclosures from INTILION, this cooperation expands the existing partnership between the two companies into the realm of sodium-ion battery energy storage. INTILION plans to combine CATL’s advanced battery technology with its own expertise in system integration and services to drive project execution.
Sungrow Signs 130 MWh Energy Storage Deal in Albania
On October 6, Sungrow signed a cooperation agreement with Albanian enterprises Matrix Konstruksion and Blessed Investment Group to supply energy storage systems for the local "Project Blue" solar-plus-storage initiative.
The project entails a planned 185 MWp photovoltaic power station paired with a 130 MWh energy storage system. Under the agreement, the energy storage portion will utilize liquid-cooling technology, incorporating 26 units of Sungrow's PowerTitan 2.0 energy storage systems and 13 units of MVS3460-LS equipment.
In addition, subsequent phases of Project Blue plan to add another 164 MWp of installed PV capacity alongside a supporting 80 MW / 180 MWh energy storage system, further expanding the overall scale of the project.
Desay Intelligent Energy Storage Signs 500 MWh Energy Storage Partnership
On September 29, Huizhou Desay Intelligent Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. ("Desay Intelligent Energy Storage"), a wholly owned subsidiary of Desay Battery, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Yantai Dongfang Wisdom Electric Co., Ltd. ("Wisdom Electric").
Under the agreement, the two companies will establish a two-year strategic partnership to collaborate across diverse application scenarios, including off-grid energy storage, microgrids, standalone power plants, and heavy-duty truck battery swapping. During the collaboration period, both parties aim to deliver energy storage systems totaling no less than 500 MWh, with roughly half of this volume prioritizing storage systems equipped with AI-driven active-safety battery cells.
