According to EnergyTrend, the LONGi PotisEdge Smart Energy Storage Manufacturing Base was officially inaugurated in Suzhou Hightech Zone on October 9.
According to LONGi, the energystorage base covers an area of approximately 66 mu. Targeting both domestic and overseas markets, it focuses on three major product lines: utilityscale energy storage, commercial & industrial (C&I) energy storage, and offgrid & microgrid energy storage. The base undertakes manufacturing, testing, quality inspection and delivery of energystorage products.
LONGi released the following productionline plans:
- The utilityscale energystorage integration line is scheduled to reach an annual integrated manufacturing capacity of 31 GWh in October 2026, with further expansion to 50 GWh per annum in H1 2027.
- The C&I energystorage production line is expected to achieve an annual output of over 10 000 units by the end of October.
- An offgrid & microgrid energystorage production line will be deployed to better meet product demands across diverse markets and application scenarios.
In addition, digital and intelligent upgrades are on the agenda for the base. Fullscale deployment and upgrade of the MES system will take place from September to November, building a lightweight Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) platform structured on “MES + BI + AI”. It will interconnect business systems including ERP, WMS and RCS to enable automatic release of production schedules, fullchain material traceability, realtime monitoring of equipment operating status, and visualization of QCDSM metrics.
Fullprocess management and control are realized via the manufacturing operations control tower, supported by AGV intelligent dispatching, digital warehouses and iTPM predictive equipment maintenance. Per LONGi, the digital closedloop quality management system can cut the turnaround time for resolving quality issues by more than 50 %.
Building on this foundation, the base will prioritize three key AI application scenarios: intelligent process execution, intelligent quality inspection, and intelligent equipment operation & maintenance. Tools such as ARpowered onsite work guidance and AIdriven quality earlywarning will also be introduced. The adoption of AI technologies will substantially boost operational efficiency, as the new base gradually establishes a more transparent, efficient and intelligent manufacturingoperation system.
The inauguration of this new energystorage base marks a key manufacturingside milestone under the “FullStack LONGi ONE” strategy. She Haifeng, General Manager of LONGi PotisEdge, stated at the inauguration ceremony that the synergy between LONGi and PotisEdge lies primarily in complementary photovoltaic and energystorage capabilities. Under the “FullStack LONGi ONE” PVstorage integration strategy, LONGi PotisEdge will further advance PVstorage development from mere equipment combination toward true systemlevel integration.
LONGi PotisEdge noted that future R&D and innovation will center on energystorage system safety, efficiency, service life and intelligence. Leveraging LONGi’s global sales and service network, it will accelerate market expansion across Europe, North America, AsiaPacific, the Middle East and other regions.
