According to EnergyTrend, CATL released the subscription prospectus for its 7th 2026 Green Science and Technology Innovation Bond on September 20, with a total issuance size of RMB 4.5 billion.

Per the issuance documents, the debt financing instrument for this tranche is sized at RMB 4.5 billion. Tranche 1 carries a 3+2year maturity with an initial issuance volume of RMB 4.0 billion; Tranche 2 has a 5year maturity and an initial issuance volume of RMB 500 million.

Net proceeds from the bond offering, after deducting issuance expenses, will be allocated to the daily operations of CATL’s lithiumion battery production projects. Funds will be used for lithiumbattery rawmaterial procurement, maintenance and upgrading of production equipment, as well as settlement of bank acceptance bills and commercial acceptance bills arising from rawmaterial purchases.

It is reported that proceeds from this bond are earmarked for four projects: the Fuding Times Lithiumion Battery Production Base, Jiangsu Times Power and EnergyStorage Lithiumion Battery R&D and Manufacturing Project, Sichuan Times Power Battery Project, and Shandong Times NewEnergy Battery Industrial Base. The combined planned capacity of the four bases stands at approximately 460 GWh.

It should be clarified that this fundraising is intended to supplement working capital for existing operational bases, rather than financing new production capacity. The 460 GWh represents the publicly disclosed total planned capacity of the four facilities and does not constitute new capacity expansion under this bond issue.
