Over 2 GWh: Five Enterprises Including Sungrow and LONGi Sign Major EnergyStorage Orders

According to EnergyTrend, Sungrow, LONGi Green Energy, Trina Solar, CATL and Sany Silicon Energy have recently secured new energystorage orders and launched new projects spanning Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia and multiple regions across China.

Sungrow Secures Two EnergyStorage Project Orders

On September 15, foreign media reported that Sungrow has entered a strategic cooperation with ERS Energy of Malaysia to deploy energystorage projects in Malaysia and the Philippines, with a combined capacity of 1 GWh.

Among them, the MyBeST project in Bahau, Malaysia, has a capacity of 441 MWh, with ERS Energy acting as the EPC contractor. This project forms part of a largescale national battery energystorage initiative led by the Energy Commission of Malaysia.

The second signed energystorage project is located in the Philippines. Sungrow and ERS Energy will jointly develop a 4hourduration battery energystorage project for ACEN, with a capacity of 556 MWh. ERS Energy will serve as the EPC contractor for this project.

LONGi Signs 50 MWh EnergyStorage Order in Romania

On September 16, LONGi Green Energy announced a recent partnership with Enexus, a Romanian renewableenergy developer and EPC firm. LONGi will supply liquidcooled Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for the project.

The energystorage project is situated in Titu, Dâmbovița County, Romania, with a total capacity of 50 MWh.

This is not the first collaboration between the two parties. Since 2025, Enexusaffiliated projects have deployed more than 200 MW of LONGi PV modules. This marks Enexus’ first adoption of LONGi’s BESS energystorage solution, extending their partnership from highefficiency PV module supply to largescale powerstation technical cooperation covering both PV and energy storage.

Trina Solar’s IntercityHub EnergyStorage Project Comes Online in Anhui

On September 16, Trina Solar announced that the industrialandcommercial energystorage project at the Intercity Railway Control Center in Chuzhou, Anhui, has recently been put into operation.

Boasting a capacity of 1 MW/2.088 MWh, the project is fully equipped with Trina Storage BlueOcean 2series industrialandcommercial energystorage systems. Its specialized liquidcooled energystorage solution caters to the unique powerconsumption scenarios of railtransit public buildings.

CATL Supports Commissioning of African SolarplusStorage Project

On September 16, CATL announced the official commissioning of South Africa’s Hydra solarplusstorage project, for which CATL is the exclusive supplier. Representing Africa’s largest hybrid renewableenergy project, CATL delivers a turnkey solution including 158 sets of EnerC+ energystorage containers, integrated PCS equipment and a wholestation energymanagement system.

Located in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa, the Hydra project is codeveloped by TotalEnergies, Hydra Energy Storage Holdings and Red Rocket Renewables. It features a 216 MW photovoltaic power station paired with a 588 MWh battery energystorage system.

Separately, on September 15, CATL disclosed its recent winning bid for the Qiuruan Ruite 100 MW/400 MWh energystorage powerstation project. Of the total capacity, 90 MW/360 MWh will adopt lithiumironphosphate systems and 10 MW/40 MWh will use sodiumion energystorage systems.

The overall project capacity stands at 100 MW/400 MWh. A 10 MW/40 MWh segment will be fitted with CATL sodiumion energystorage systems to operate in tandem with lithiumironphosphate energystorage facilities.

Sany Silicon Energy Breaks Ground on Zambia EnergyStorage Project

On September 16, Sany Silicon Energy held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Ruida Mine PVenergystorage microgrid project in Zambia. This is Sany Silicon Energy’s first overseas implemented project in the “PV + energy storage + diesel generation” microgrid segment.

The project adopts a multienergy complementary microgrid architecture. Its PV DCside installed capacity reaches 13 MWp, equipped with 22 620 pieces of 575 Wp monocrystalline silicon modules, 38 units of 320 kW inverters and 6 boxtype transformers. The energystorage segment consists of 13 energystorage systems totalling 39 MWh.
