EnergyTrend has learned that recently, several energy storage companies announced new order dynamics. Huawei Digital Power, EAST, and Changde Cospowers disclosed the latest progress on energy storage orders successively, covering the advancement of large-scale energy storage projects, grid-connection implementation, and sodium-ion battery orders.

Huawei Advances Progress on 4GWh Energy Storage Project in Egypt

On August 23, according to foreign media "DAILY NEWS", Egypt's Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy held a meeting with Huawei to review the progress of a locally manufactured battery energy storage system (BESS) project with a total installed capacity of 4GWh.

The project covers energy storage power station construction and localized manufacturing layout, with plans to construct multiple standalone BESS power stations with a total installed capacity of 4GWh. This project will be implemented priced in Egyptian pounds, while simultaneously advancing the localized production layout of energy storage batteries.

EAST Supplies 800MWh Standalone Energy Storage Project

On August 24, EAST Energy Storage announced that the Lineu New Energy Minfeng 200MW/800MWh standalone energy storage project located in Minfeng County, Hotan Prefecture, Xinjiang, recently completed reverse power transmission and is ready for grid-connected power transmission.

EAST provided a grid-forming 6.7MW/26.8MWh centralized liquid-cooled energy storage system for the project. EAST's grid-forming energy storage system supports true grid-forming functionality, with system capabilities supporting 300% 10s active, reactive, and apparent full overload capacity, as well as multiple operation modes such as grid-connected, off-grid, and black start.

Changde Cospowers Secures 30MWh Sodium-Ion Energy Storage Order

According to reports from Changde Economic Development Zone, recently, a batch of 30MWh energy storage project batteries customized by a Mexican client for Changde Cospowers New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is stepping up production, with delivery expected to be completed before the end of October.

It is reported that the order amount reaches 35 million yuan. Changde Cospowers stated that currently, the company's sodium-ion products have been sold to Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Singapore, and other places. It is expected that by the end of 2027, the proportion of sales contributed by the company's sodium-ion batteries will increase from the current 5% to over 30%.

In addition, Changde Cospowers stated that with the development of global AI technology, Artificial Intelligence Data Centers (AIDC) impose higher requirements on the safety, cycle life, and C-rate performance of energy storage devices. Since sodium-ion batteries possess relative advantages in these aspects, the company will leverage the AIDC expansion trend to accelerate the promotion and application of related products.
