EnergyTrend has learned that in recent days, LONGi, REPT BATTERO, and SANY Microgrid have successively announced new developments including project signings, grid connections, and construction starts for their energy storage projects.

LONGi Signs Standalone 5MWh Energy Storage Project

On August 20, LONGi announced that the standalone 5MWh long-duration C&I energy storage project by LONGi x Shandong Deyuan Power was officially signed.

It is reported that the project supports an existing 5MW distributed PV system in the plant area of a leading textile enterprise in Shandong, integrating solar and energy storage. Tailored for the scenario, LONGi equipped the project with the 5MWh LONGiBank 1.0 liquid-cooled energy storage system, achieving precise matching for 4-hour long-duration energy storage, with a single cabinet providing 4-hour charging and discharging capabilities.

LONGi also announced that as of now, LONGi ESS has deployed over 13GWh globally, maintaining a record of zero thermal runaway.

REPT BATTERO's First Energy Storage Project in Japan Connected to the Grid and Operational

On August 20, REPT BATTERO announced that several of its energy storage projects in Japan have recently entered the grid-connection commissioning phase. The project located in Kanuma City, Tochigi Prefecture, took the lead in completing grid connection, becoming REPT BATTERO's first standalone grid-side energy storage project officially put into operation in Japan.

The scale of the project is 1.99MW/8.35MWh. The core equipment utilizes 417kWh liquid-cooled outdoor DC energy storage cabinets provided by REPT BATTERO, supplied in full cabinet units. Currently, REPT BATTERO's project pipeline in Japan continues to grow.

SANY Microgrid Starts Construction on African Energy Storage Project

On August 19, SANY Microgrid held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Mozambique SPGS Mine Microgrid Project. This is SANY Microgrid's first new energy project in Mozambique, further expanding its business footprint in Southern Africa.

The SANY Microgrid SPGS Mine Microgrid Project builds an advanced microgrid integrated energy system incorporating solar power, energy storage, and diesel generators. Among them, the DC side of the PV area has a total capacity of 10MWp, while the energy storage area is configured with 8 sets of energy storage systems with a total capacity of 24MWh.

It is reported that the project took only 60 days from agreement signing to commencement of construction, and is expected to be completed and put into operation by December 30, 2026.
