EnergyTrend has learned that on July 28, Fortune China released the 2026 Fortune Global 500 list. It is reported that the combined total revenue of the companies on the 2026 Fortune Global 500 list reached approximately $43.1 trillion, accounting for more than one-third of the global GDP and representing an increase of about 3.2% compared to last year.

The revenue threshold for entering the list increased from $32.2 billion to $33.2 billion, up 3% from a year ago. The combined net profit of all listed companies grew significantly by about 14% year-on-year to approximately $3.4 trillion. Both the total assets and total net assets of the 500 listed companies reached historical peaks since the inception of the Fortune Global 500 rankings.

Driven by the continuous expansion of the global new energy market, the photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage industries have become critical components of the energy sector. Multiple Chinese companies active in the PV and energy storage sectors made their way into the 2026 Fortune Global 500 list:

In addition to private tech giants, several large state-owned energy central enterprises also made the list:

Including State Grid (3rd), PowerChina (104th), China Southern Power Grid (86th), China Energy Investment Corporation (CHN Energy) (108th), China Energy Engineering Corporation (Energy China) (234th), State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) (271st), China Huaneng Group (285th), China Huadian Corporation (366th), and China Datang Corporation (456th). Leveraging their foundations in power grid operations, power generation, and engineering construction, they continue to advance the implementation of large-scale renewable energy base PV and integrated energy storage projects.

Regarding overseas new energy enterprises, Tesla and LG Chem entered the list:

It is worth noting that China possesses a well-rounded PV and energy storage industrial ecosystem. Beyond those listed in the Fortune Global 500, leading domestic companies across the PV and energy storage supply chain—such as LONGi , JinkoSolar, Trina Solar, Sungrow , and EVE —were all selected for the concurrent Fortune China 500 list.
