According to EnergyTrend, recently, energy storage and supply chain projects from five companies—Deye, Sermatec, SAIS Energy Storage, Zapo Electric, and Songshi New Materials—have officially landed, achieving new progress through contract signings, construction starts, and production rollouts.
Construction Progress Updated for 16GWh C&I Energy Storage Project
On July 22, according to news released by "Ningbo Economy and Information Technology," the construction of Phase I of Deye Energy Storage's 7GWh per year commercial & industrial (C&I) energy storage project, located in Cixi Binhai Economic Development Zone, Ningbo, Zhejiang, has accelerated. Strong market demand is driving the company to further expand its capacity, with Phase II (9GWh) scheduled to break ground soon.
On June 24, Deye disclosed an investment progress announcement regarding its wholly-owned subsidiary signing the Phase II investment agreement. Deye Energy Storage signed an Investment Agreement with the Management Committee of Cixi Binhai Economic Development Zone to invest in and build a 16GWh per year C&I energy storage production line project in two phases (Phase I: 7GWh, Phase II: 9GWh). The fixed-asset investment for Phase I is expected to be no less than RMB 895 million, while Phase II is expected to be no less than RMB 1.232 billion.
Sermatec (Pingmei Shenma) Energy Storage Intelligent Manufacturing Base Lands
On July 21, Sermatec and Henan Pingmei Shenma Energy Storage held an unveiling ceremony for the "Sermatec (Pingmei Shenma) Production and Intelligent Manufacturing Base" at the Pingmei Energy Storage Zhumadian Industrial Park.
The manufacturing base relies on Pingmei Energy Storage's deep industry foundation, mature manufacturing facilities, and robust supply chain resources, combined with Sermatec's strong capabilities in core energy storage system technologies, proprietary product innovation, and global project delivery and operations. The collaboration aims to build a benchmark industrial park for smart energy storage equipment manufacturing.
Three Energy Storage Projects Signed in Wuxi
According to Wuxi Daily, three energy storage manufacturing projects were signed collectively in Wuxi National High-Tech Zone on July 22. The signed projects include the Yangtze River Delta Zero-Carbon Industry Co-construction Base by the National Engineering Research Center for Advanced Energy Storage Materials,Hong Kong SAIS Energy Storage Equipment R&D and Manufacturing Base,and Zapo Electric Solid-State Transformer R&D and Manufacturing Base.
The National Engineering Research Center for Advanced Energy Storage Materials was approved and established by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRF) in November 2009. Located in the Sunan Shuofang International Airport Economic Development Zone (Airport EDZ), the base will focus on iterative R&D of advanced energy storage technologies, scenario-based demonstration applications, deployment of industry standards, and local transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
Also landing in the Airport EDZ is the Hong Kong SAIS Energy Storage Equipment R&D and Manufacturing Base, featuring a total investment of USD 300 million and covering an area of 88 mu (~5.87 hectares). It will serve as SAIS's global headquarters for R&D, manufacturing, sales, and future public listing. Upon completion, it will achieve an annual capacity of 5GWh of energy storage systems, as well as 200,000 units/sets of PV inverters, hybrid inverters, and C&I energy storage power conversion systems (PCS).
The Zapo Electric Solid-State Transformer R&D and Manufacturing Base project was signed and settled in the Sino-European Industrial Innovation Zone (Meicun Subdistrict), with a total investment of RMB 500 million. The project develops and manufactures solid-state transformers involving key technologies such as SiC/GaN wide-bandgap semiconductor applications, high-frequency magnetic material optimization, and multi-port energy routing. Once full capacity is reached, it will produce 5,000 sets of medium/low-voltage solid-state transformers annually.
Lithium Battery Fine Chemical Project Commissioned in Hubei
Recently, Hubei Songshi New Materials commissioned its 4,000-ton-per-year lithium battery fine chemical project in Xiantao, Hubei. Three high-end novel solid-state battery additive production lines in the workshop are currently operating at full capacity, with the first batch of lithium battery electrolyte additives rolling off the line.
The project focuses on the R&D and production of core additives for high-end lithium battery electrolytes. These products are mainly supplied to top battery companies such as CATL and Guotai Huarong, whose requirements for purity and stability far exceed standard industry norms, prompting the company to raise its testing standards accordingly.
