According to EnergyTrend, five enterprises including Hithium, Lopal Tech, Yist Electric Power, ZK Energy and Huitian New Materials have recently seen their energy storage projects advance steadily, with new milestones achieved in project commencement, trial production and official operation.

Hithium’s Shandong Zero-Carbon Energy Storage Industrial Park Nears Official Operation

On July 13, the trial production of Hithium’s integrated zero-carbon energy storage industrial park project in Shandong entered the final stage, marking the countdown to the project’s official commissioning. Construction of the project started in November 2024, and trial production was successfully launched in April 2026.

The industrial park is equipped with Hithium’s self-developed fifth-generation intelligent manufacturing production lines, with a single-line production capacity of 15 GWh and a production efficiency three times that of traditional production lines. At present, the long-duration energy storage intelligent production lines in the park are operating stably on a trial basis.

According to Hithium, the trial production work is basically completed. Mass production and delivery of core products such as battery cells and module PACKs are expected to start in early August this year. The company will subsequently accelerate capacity ramp-up to achieve full production operation.

Notably, the Heze base has secured a large number of overseas orders even before official commissioning. Its products are mainly tailored for 4-to-8-hour long-duration energy storage scenarios. Upon full operation, the project will form large-scale production capacity for long-duration energy storage products.

Lopal Tech’s Cathode Material Project Enters Trial Production

According to Heze TV Network, the first production line of the 110,000-ton high-performance phosphate cathode material project invested and constructed by Shandong Liyuan Technology, a subsidiary of Lopal Tech, has officially entered the trial production phase.

With a total investment of RMB 1 billion, the project focuses on high-performance lithium iron phosphate cathode materials. Construction commenced in July 2025. As an expansion project, it is located in the Juancheng Chemical Industry Park, Heze City, Shandong Province, covering an additional land area of approximately 33,867 square meters. Its production process is basically consistent with that of the existing operational lithium iron phosphate cathode material projects.

Huitian New Materials to Invest in Lithium Battery Anode Adhesive Project

On July 15, Hubei Huitian New Materials Co., Ltd. issued an announcement, stating that its wholly-owned subsidiary Hubei Huitian New Materials (Yicheng) Co., Ltd. plans to invest approximately RMB 126 million of self-raised funds in constructing a 72,000-ton/year lithium battery electrode adhesive (PAA) project.

The project is situated in the existing plant area of Huitian Yicheng in the Xiangyang (Yicheng) Fine Chemical Industrial Park, Hubei Province. It mainly involves the construction of one water-based acrylic adhesive workshop and two Class A warehouses, with public works and auxiliary facilities relying on existing plant installations. The construction cycle is scheduled to last 12 months.

At present, Huitian New Materials has an operational PAA production capacity of 18,000 tons per year, while its ongoing 36,000-ton/year PAA project is in the trial production stage. Both production lines are running at full capacity with saturated order volume.

Yist Electric Power’s New Energy Storage Project Commences Construction

According to an update released by Changzhou National High-Tech Zone on July 3, the new energy storage equipment project of Jiangsu Yist Electric Power Technology Co., Ltd., a key municipal project in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, has successfully obtained the construction permit and started construction immediately after land acquisition.

Located in Menghe Town, Changzhou National High-Tech Zone, the project boasts a total investment of RMB 1 billion and covers an additional land area of 53 mu, with new production workshops and other supporting buildings to be constructed. Upon completion, it will form an annual production capacity of 20,000 sets of intelligent and environmentally friendly power distribution switch control equipment, together with 2 GWh of wind power step-up cabins and 1 GWh of new energy storage equipment.

ZK Energy’s 2 GWh Lithium Battery Base in Guizhou Officially Opens

On July 9, ZK Energy held the opening ceremony of its Guizhou base and the sixth-anniversary celebration of Hunan ZK Energy. The Guizhou base is dedicated to the R&D and production of new-generation 21700 series cylindrical lithium batteries.

With a total investment of RMB 250 million and an annual production capacity of 2 GWh, the project focuses on high-safety and high-performance large cylindrical lithium batteries, which are mainly applied in electric two-wheelers and energy storage fields. The project was signed and settled in April 2025, completed commissioning on March 1, 2026, and officially put into operation recently.
