Over 22GWh: Latest Roundup of 10 Major Battery Cell and Energy Storage Capacity Projects

Recently, the signing, construction, and commissioning of energy storage and battery projects across various regions have accelerated, covering multiple core tracks such as sodium-ion batteries, lithium iron phosphate (LFP) materials, semi-solid-state batteries, and energy storage PACKs.

Phase I of Chilwee Group's 6.5GWh Sodium-Ion Battery Project Commences Production

On the morning of June 13, the first phase of the 6.5GWh sodium-ion battery project invested by Anqing Chaoren Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Chilwee Group, officially commenced production.

The project has a total investment of 3.5 billion yuan, a total planned capacity of 6.5GWh, and covers a total land area of approximately 324.5 mu. Among this, the first phase has a planned capacity of 2GWh, occupies 160 mu, and is expected to generate an annual output value exceeding 500 million yuan. As the production capacity is gradually released, it will eventually form a large-scale manufacturing capability of over 2 million sets of sodium-ion batteries per year.

Fengyuan Shares Ramps Up Investment in Two LFP Cathode Material Projects

On June 12, Fengyuan Shares announced its plan to issue A-shares to no more than 35 specific targets, aiming to raise a total of up to 1.428 billion yuan. The funds will be directed toward two major lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode material projects.

Specifically, the renovation and expansion project for an annual output of 100,000 tons of high-performance lithium battery LFP cathode materials plans to upgrade the existing 50,000-ton production line in Yuxi while simultaneously building a new 50,000-ton production line. This project intends to utilize 700 million yuan of the raised funds; it has currently completed project filing, and the environmental impact assessment (EIA) procedures are being processed in an orderly manner. Another new project for a production line with an annual capacity of 50,000 tons of high-performance LFP plans to use 300 million yuan of the raised funds and has already obtained project filing and EIA approval at this stage.

Guofeng Yuanchu Energy Storage PACK Factory Tops Out

On June 11, the main structure of the energy storage PACK factory under Jiangsu Guofeng Yuanchu New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shenzhen Yichu Digital and Intelligent Energy Group Co., Ltd., was successfully and fully topped out.

In the next step, Guofeng Yuanchu will advance internal equipment installation and production line debugging, expecting to achieve a manufacturing and delivery capacity of 5GWh by June 30.

Lopal Plans to Invest in a 120,000-Ton LFP Production Line

On June 11, Lopal released an announcement stating that its holding sub-subsidiary, LBM NEW ENERGY (AP) PTE. LTD., will invest in the "Large-Scale Production Project for New Energy Vehicle Power and Energy Storage Battery Cathode Materials" in Indonesia through its wholly-owned subsidiary.

The project plans to build a production line with an annual output of 120,000 tons of second- and third-generation LFP cathode materials. The total investment for the project is approximately 160 million US dollars, equivalent to about 1.088 billion RMB.

Shengxing New Energy Builds a New 10GWh Lithium Battery Project

On June 9, the environmental impact assessment for the new generation lithium battery R&D and comprehensive production base project, invested and constructed by Hunan Shengxing New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., was accepted.

It is reported that the total investment of this project is about 9.8 billion yuan, and it is planned to be constructed in phases. The Phase I project publicized this time involves an investment of 2.351 billion yuan, and it will primarily construct one battery cell production building, a finished product warehouse, an electrolyte warehouse, a power station, a raw material warehouse, and other supporting facilities. Upon completion, it will produce 10GWh of energy storage batteries annually.

EIA Accepted for a 10,000-Ton Sodium-Ion Battery Project

On June 8, the environmental impact assessment for the project of Tongxing Haosheng (Yibin) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., featuring an annual output of 10,000 tons of sodium-ion battery cathode materials and supporting facilities, was accepted and publicized.

The overall plan of the project is to build an annual output of 100,000 tons of sodium-ion battery cathode materials, to be completed in three phases. This specific project represents the first stage of Phase I, which involves constructing one sodium battery cathode material production line with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons. Currently, the production line for this project is under construction, and according to the project planning and actual progress, the 10,000-ton capacity is expected to commence production in October 2026.

EIA Publicized for a 200MWh Sodium-Ion Battery Technological Upgrading Project

Recently, the environmental impact assessment for a technological upgrading project with an annual capacity of 200 megawatt-hours (MWh) of sodium-ion batteries, invested by Zhejiang Hanxing Sodium Battery Technology Co., Ltd., was publicized.

It is understood that Hanxing Sodium Battery intends to acquire the existing production equipment of Zhejiang Tianfa New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. located in Building 9, Zone A of the SME Incubation Park, while simultaneously purchasing some new equipment. With a planned investment of 23 million yuan, the company will implement the 200MWh sodium-ion battery technological upgrading project, which is expected to be completed and put into production in February 2027.

Two Major Battery Projects Signed in Maoming

Recently, Maoming Dianbai Dingsheng Industrial Investment Group Co., Ltd. partnered with Guangdong Sanyi New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. to establish Guangdong Baiyi Times New Energy Co., Ltd., planning to invest 536 million yuan to engage in new energy battery manufacturing.

In addition, Guangdong Sanduo New Energy Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with the People's Government of Lingmen Town, Dianbai District, investing 10 million yuan to build a lithium battery PACK and production base. The project will lease standard factory buildings in the industrial park to produce products such as mobile power supplies and energy storage batteries, further strengthening the energy storage industrial cluster.

1GWh Semi-Solid-State Battery Production Line to Settle in Liaoning

On June 5, Beijing Judian Boyan New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. signed the "Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement for the 1GWh Annual Capacity Semi-Solid-State Battery Production Line Construction Project" with the People's Government of Linghe District, Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province.

The core content of this agreement is the landing and construction of a semi-solid-state battery production line project with an annual capacity of 1GWh. Relying on its own advantages in technology, investment, and industrial resources, Beijing Judian Boyan New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. will fully promote project construction and industrial investment cooperation.
