Recent developments in the energy storage sector have seen a steady stream of order signings and project deliveries. Sungrow has secured and delivered several large-scale energy storage projects across Europe and Latin America, while Envision AESC has won overseas battery cell and module supply orders totaling more than 10GWh. In China, a 60MWh commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage project involving SUMEC Energy has successfully been connected to the grid.
Sungrow Secures More Than 14.3GWh of Overseas Energy Storage Projects
Recently, Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd. (Sungrow) has participated in several large-scale energy storage projects in Europe and Latin America, covering Bulgaria, Hungary, and Chile.
Bulgaria:
On June 12, Sungrow announced that the 150MW/600MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) jointly developed with renewable energy infrastructure integrator Sunotec in Nova Zagora, Bulgaria, has officially entered operation. According to the company, the project is fully equipped with Sungrow’s liquid-cooled PowerTitan 2.0 energy storage system and is designed to enhance grid flexibility and support the integration of renewable energy. The two companies also plan to continue their cooperation on larger-scale storage projects in the country, with their combined grid-connected capacity expected to reach 3GWh by the end of 2026.
Hungary:
Recently, Hungary’s largest battery energy storage project, invested and developed by Greenvolt Power, was officially commissioned, with an inauguration ceremony held on site. The project has a capacity of 99.8MW/288.6MWh. BYD Energy Storage supplied 288.6MWh of its MC Cube battery energy storage system for the project.
Chile:
On June 8, Spanish independent power producer Grenergy Renovables held an inauguration ceremony for the 3.5GWh battery energy storage phase of its Oasis de Atacama project in Chile. The commissioned storage facility is equipped with 6,240 units of BYD’s MC Cube T containerized energy storage systems.
Envision AESC Signs Overseas Energy Storage Orders Exceeding 10GWh
Recently, Envision AESC entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with energy storage system integrator Prevalon Energy.
Under the agreement, Envision AESC will supply more than 10GWh of high-performance energy storage battery cells and modules to Prevalon over the next three years.
