Seven Energy Storage Projects Make New Progress with Total Investment Exceeding 9 Billion Yuan

According to EnergyTrend, seven energy storage projects backed by enterprises including Baise Kunyu New Energy, Yichang Churui and Zhiyao New Energy have recently secured key progress such as contract signing, groundbreaking, environmental impact assessment (EIA) and pre-production preparation. The projects cover energy storage system integration, sodium-ion batteries and semi-solid batteries.

New Progress of Baise Energy Storage System Project

According to Baise Media, on June 7, updates were released on the Phase I construction of the project with an annual capacity of 6GWh battery cells and 6GWh energy storage integrated systems located in Baidong New Area (Baise High-tech Zone).

Developed by Baise Kunyu New Energy Co., Ltd., the overall investment of this energy storage project stands at approximately 2.8 billion yuan, while the investment for Phase I reaches 1.5 billion yuan.

Latest Update on 150,000-ton Annual Battery-grade Lithium Iron Phosphate Project

On June 3, the Ecology and Environment Bureau of Yichang City, Hubei Province, publicized the environmental impact report for the construction project of an annual output of 150,000 tons of battery-grade lithium iron phosphate.

The project is invested and constructed by Yichang Churui New Materials Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 2.3 billion yuan and a designed annual production capacity of 150,000 tons of battery-grade lithium iron phosphate.

10GWh Sodium-ion & Lithium Battery Project Nears Commissioning

As reported by Heyuan National High-tech Zone, the main steel structure workshops of the Tongke New Energy Project in the Cross-river Integrated Development Zone of Heyuan National High-tech Zone, Guangdong Province have been completed. The Phase I construction is drawing to a close, and the first production line is scheduled to be put into operation at the end of June this year.

With a total investment of 1 billion yuan and a designed overall capacity of 10GWh, the project plans to produce 2GWh of sodium-ion and lithium-ion batteries annually, and build fully automated production lines for 250ppm large cylindrical cells. The complex comprises a production plant for sodium-ion and lithium-ion batteries, raw material warehouses, finished product warehouses, comprehensive office buildings, logistics centers and a R&D center for lithium batteries, along with other supporting facilities.

2GWh Sodium-ion Battery Project Signed in Ningxia

According to Lingwu Media, on June 5, Lingwu Municipal People's Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region signed an investment agreement for the 2GWh sodium-ion battery project with Ningxia Zhiyao New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.

With a total investment of 1.06 billion yuan, the project is situated in Yinchuan High-tech Zone of Lingwu City, covering a land area of 150 mu. It includes production workshops, warehouse areas, R&D and office zones, staff dormitories and public green spaces. Upon completion, it will deliver an annual production capacity of 2GWh sodium-ion batteries.

1GWh Semi-solid Battery Project Signed

On June 5, Linghe District People's Government of Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, formally signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Beijing Judian Boyan New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. in Beijing for the construction of a production line with an annual capacity of 1GWh semi-solid batteries.

The two parties will focus on advancing the implementation of the 1GWh annual semi-solid battery production line in Linghe District, and carry out in-depth cooperation in industrial layout, technological innovation and coordinated regional economic development for the semi-solid battery sector.

New Progress of Sodium-ion Battery Cathode Material Project in Sichuan

On June 8, the EIA approval was granted for Phase I of the project with an annual output of 16,000 tons of polyanion sodium-ion battery cathode materials in Jingyan County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province.

The project has a total investment of 550 million yuan and includes four production lines for polyanion sodium-ion battery cathode materials, with an annual output capacity of 8,000 tons after completion.

The project developer is Sichuan Zhenying Technology Co., Ltd. Founded on August 15, 2025 with a registered capital of 10 million yuan, the company is a subsidiary of YOTAI.

Update on MGL Lithium Iron Phosphate Project

Recently, Phase I of the Sichuan MGL New Materials Project in Dazhou High-tech Zone, Sichuan Province has officially entered the site leveling construction phase.

Phase I of the project involves a total investment of 1.3 billion yuan and covers 230 mu of land, and is expected to be completed and put into operation in June 2027. Once operational, it will achieve an annual output of 100,000 tons of iron phosphate and 56,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate. Focusing on high-end lithium iron phosphate cathode materials, its products will be mainly supplied to manufacturers of power batteries and energy storage batteries.
