Construction and expansion activities across the energy storage industry continue to gain momentum. Recently, Maitian Energy officially commissioned its Phase II factory, Rongjie Group broke ground on a RMB 12 billion new energy manufacturing base, and Yuheng Battery completed the filing process for an additional 1 GWh lithium/sodium battery project. As market demand continues to grow, companies are accelerating capacity expansion and project deployment.
Fox ESS Phase II Factory Commences Operations
On June 1, Fox ESS Co., Ltd. held a launch ceremony for its Phase II factory, marking the official completion and commencement of operations of the project.
The Phase II facility is located at No. 67 Ouxue Road, Xinghai Subdistrict, Longwan District, Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. The factory focuses on the research, development, manufacturing, and intelligent production of core products including PCBAs, batteries, and commercial and industrial energy storage systems. Battery energy storage products are the flagship focus of the Phase II project. Leveraging the strength of its Fox ESS branded products, the company is further expanding its presence in global markets.
Rongjie Group Breaks Ground on Guangzhou New Energy Intelligent Manufacturing Base
On May 30, Rongjie Group officially commenced construction of its Guangzhou New Energy Intelligent Manufacturing Base project.
Located in Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City in Huangpu District, Guangzhou, the project involves a total investment of approximately RMB 12 billion and is designed with a planned production capacity of 24 GWh. The manufacturing base will encompass three major business segments—consumer batteries, power batteries, and energy storage products—with the aim of building a complete industrial ecosystem spanning cell manufacturing and system integration.
The energy storage segment of the project will provide comprehensive energy storage solutions for residential, commercial and industrial, power generation, and grid-side applications.
Yuheng Battery Files 1 GWh Lithium/Sodium Battery Project
On May 29, a technology upgrade demonstration project based on lithium-sodium synergy and multi-technology-route, multi-scenario applications, involving the addition of 1 GWh of lithium/sodium battery production capacity, completed its filing procedures.
The project is being developed by Yuheng Battery Co., Ltd. with a total investment of RMB 60 million, including RMB 50 million allocated for equipment procurement.
According to the project plan, two new fully automated battery production lines will be added, covering the entire manufacturing process, including cathode and anode material mixing, coating, slitting, stacking, packaging, electrolyte filling, formation, and testing. Advanced production and inspection equipment will also be installed to ensure manufacturing precision and product quality while enhancing automation and intelligent manufacturing capabilities.
The project is located in Suichang County, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, and is scheduled for completion by December 2027. Upon completion, it will establish annual production capacity of 1 GWh of lithium/sodium batteries. A key objective of the project is to achieve integrated lithium-sodium co-production, promoting complementary development between the two battery technologies and expanding their application potential.
