Recently, five major projects covering sectors such as energy storage systems, sodium-ion batteries, and core materials have intensively ushered in substantial progress. The Guizhou Xinpu 1.5GWh energy storage project, the 1GWh battery projects of Nake Energy and a subsidiary of Super Sodium, CNGR Advanced Material's 150,000-ton cathode material project, and Tianna Technology's 10,000-ton-level material base have successively announced their settlement, commencement of construction, or entry into the environmental impact assessment (EIA) phase.
Guizhou Xinpu Invests in and Constructs a 1.5GWh Energy Storage System Integration Project
On May 22, according to the website of the Management Committee of Xinpu New Area in Zunyi City, Xinpu New Area plans to invest 700 million yuan to build a photovoltaic inverter and energy storage system integration project in the Economic Development Zone.
Specifically, the project will construct inverter production lines, an energy storage system integration center, and a supporting research and development (R&D) building. The main products include residential, commercial, and industrial inverters, with an annual production capacity of 80,000 units; the annual production capacity of the energy storage systems will reach 1.5GWh. In addition, the project will also include the supporting construction of a smart microgrid simulation test platform and a zero-carbon technology exhibition center.
It is reported that the planned construction year for this project is 2026, subject to the actual construction progress.
EIA Application Accepted for Nake Energy's Sodium-Ion Battery Project
On May 21, Fujian Nake Energy Technology Co., Ltd. applied for EIA approval for its high-performance sodium-ion battery cathode material and new battery system integration project.
With a total investment of 150 million yuan and a construction period of 24 months, the project's construction timeline spans from April 2025 to March 2027. It plans to build a production line with an annual output of 10,000 tons of high-performance sodium-ion battery cathode materials, as well as an integrated manufacturing production line for new battery systems with an annual output of 1GWh. Concurrently, it will carry out supporting battery PACK assembly business, lease an 8,000-square-meter factory building, and synchronously construct a full set of public supporting facilities, including power supply, water supply and drainage, fire protection, and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning).
Super Sodium Subsidiary's 1GWh Battery Project Settles in Jiangsu
On May 21, the environmental impact report for the new 1GWh new energy battery production project of Suzhou Nuojin New Energy Co., Ltd. was published for approval.
The total investment of the project is 100 million yuan. Once completed, its annual production will include 180MWh of sodium-ion batteries for starting and start-stop applications; 450MWh of lithium iron phosphate batteries for heavy truck start-and-park integration; 100MWh of lithium-ion batteries for non-motor vehicles; 50MWh of sodium-ion batteries for non-motor vehicles; 200MWh of lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries for energy storage; and 20MWh of lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries for backup power.
It is reported that Suzhou Nuojin New Energy Co., Ltd., established on August 25, 2025, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Suzhou Super Sodium New Energy Co., Ltd., which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Huzhou Super Sodium New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
EIA Begins for CNGR Advanced Material's Phosphorus-Based Cathode Material Project in Guizhou
On May 21, the EIA work began for the Guizhou CNGR Xingyang Energy Storage High-end Phosphorus-Based Cathode Material Industrialization Project.
It is reported that this project is located in Bai'anying Village, Xicheng Subdistrict, Kaiyang County, Guiyang City. The total investment of the project is 1.8 billion yuan. The main construction contents include building a new production line with an annual output of 150,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate, and constructing high-compaction lithium iron phosphate production workshops as well as related auxiliary facilities and environmental protection facilities.
Construction Begins on Tianna Technology's New Energy Battery Material Production Base Project
On May 20, the headquarters and new energy battery material production base project of Wuhan Tianna Technology Co., Ltd. officially commenced construction in the Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park of Yangtze River New Area.
The Tianna Technology project settling in the park this time plans to construct a corporate headquarters, an R&D center, and a 10,000-ton-level new energy battery material production base.
The first phase involves a planned investment of 450 million yuan to relocate the headquarters and R&D center to the Yangtze River New Area and build a 10,000-ton production line. With a planned total construction area of approximately 41,293 square meters, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of 400 million yuan after reaching full capacity. The second phase plans an investment of 1.4 billion yuan to build a 30,000-ton production line, which is expected to achieve an annual output value of 1.2 billion yuan after reaching full capacity.
