2026-05-14 14:42

On May 13th, the 18th China International Battery Fair (CIBF2026) officially opened, and Energy Trend went deep into the exhibition floor to explore the event.

Judging from the core products brought by the participating enterprises, the energy storage industry is accelerating its entry into a "high-capacity era." Ultra-high-capacity cells of 588Ah and above have become the absolute strategic focus for various companies, directly driving energy storage systems to leap towards the 6MWh to 8MWh range.

At the same time, technological routes are showing a significant trend toward diversification, and the industrialization pace of sodium-ion batteries has noticeably accelerated. Several enterprises, including Pylontech, Desay Battery, and China Sodium-ion Group, prominently featured their relevant sodium-ion products at this exhibition.

At this exhibition, in terms of energy storage products, CORNEX NEW ENERGY showcased its 588Ah large-capacity energy storage-dedicated battery and the M6 energy storage system based on the CTP3.0 platform.

Among these, the 588Ah cell achieves a gravimetric and volumetric energy density of 190Wh/kg and 419Wh/L, respectively, with an energy efficiency of 96.5% and a cycle life exceeding 12,000 cycles.

In terms of integration technology, its CTP3.0 module-less architecture integrates 104 cells into a single unified box. The volumetric density of a single pack reaches 280Wh/L with a rated energy of 195.68kWh, and the production processes have been reduced by 35%.

Built on the aforementioned technologies, the M6 energy storage system adopts a standard 20-foot prefabricated cabin. It boasts a rated energy of 6,250kWh and is equipped with top-discharge thermal management, an active balancing BMS (Battery Management System), and AI O&M (Operations and Maintenance) algorithms to achieve proactive safety warnings.

Its energy efficiency under 0.25P and 0.5P operating conditions reaches 96.6% and 95%, respectively.

The 392Ah cell is positioned for all-scenario applications, supporting multi-rate conditions from 0.25P to 1P, and can simultaneously meet the demands of both residential and grid-side applications, with a 0.5P energy efficiency of 95%. Furthermore, the 392Ah cell is fully compatible in size with existing 314Ah production lines and officially entered mass production last year.

Pylontech

Pylontech made a grand appearance with its all-scenario battery solutions, adopting a dual-scenario layout of "energy storage + light motive power," comprehensively demonstrating its overall strength in cells, systems, and scenario-based applications.

Notably, its 601Ah large-capacity energy storage cell achieves an energy density of 426Wh/L, a cycle life exceeding 12,000 cycles, and an energy efficiency of 96.5%. The PyOcean-M9-8000 liquid-cooled containerized energy storage system, built upon this cell, utilizes a pre-wiring and bottom-outlet design. In practical applications, it can reduce on-site foundation construction by approximately 10% and lower the overall investment cost of related power station projects by more than 10%.
