According to EnergyTrend, Chinese enterprises have achieved a string of successes in expanding into the global energy storage market recently. Since May, companies including Hoymiles, Envision Energy, Haier New Energy and PowerChina have stepped up efforts, winning energystorage orders and cooperation projects in India, Canada, South Asia, Guyana and other regions one after another.
Hoymiles Signs Strategic Cooperation for Energy Storage in India
On May 8, at the StorageNext 2026 newproduct launch event in New Delhi, Hoymiles officially released its newgeneration highpower gridforming energy storage converters HPCS3500E and HPCS12501725E for the Indian market.
During the event, Hoymiles entered into a formal strategic cooperation with REPLUS Engitech Private Limited, a wellknown local Indian enterprise specializing in energy storage and energy system integration. From HPCS series centralised energy storage converters to HDC series liquidcooled energy storage battery systems, Hoymiles presented a complete systematic solution tailored for India’s largescale energy storage market.
These advanced solutions have been recognized and adopted by many leading industry players, with formal deployment planned for multiple major Indian projects in the near future. As introduced, Hoymiles has sold products in India for more than five years and established a local team for over two years.
Envision Energy Secures 300 MW WindStorage Project in Canada
On May 11, Envision Energy announced a strategic partnership with Cape Breton China Corp to jointly plan and build a 300 MW hybrid wind power plus Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project.
Under the cooperation agreement, the project focuses on supplying highquality renewable energy power and achieves deep coupling between wind power generation and energy storage systems. Moving beyond traditional singleproject development models, the partnership adopts a systemoriented development philosophy, fully demonstrating Envision Energy’s upgraded fullchain capabilities in power generation, energy storage and integrated energy systems.
Haier New Energy Signs 100 MWh EnergyStorage Cooperation in South Asia
Recently, the Investment Conference on Home Appliances, Electrical Devices & Battery Energy Storage Systems, hosted by the Embassy of Pakistan in China, was held in Lahore, Pakistan.
Qingdao Haier New Energy Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for strategic cooperation with SBEEC, a local Pakistani energy enterprise. Leveraging this international industrial docking platform, both sides will conduct indepth collaboration targeting the energy storage market in Pakistan and surrounding regions.
The cooperation plans a total energystorage project cluster of approximately 100 MWh, with an estimated cooperation value of around USD 10 million. Under the framework of the MOU, the two parties plan to establish a longterm strategic cooperation mechanism starting in 2026, focusing on joint development and project delivery in scenarios such as distributed energy storage, industrial and commercial energy storage, and microgrids.
PowerChina Signs Guyana EnergyStorage Project
Local time on May 8, PowerChina officially signed an EPC contract for the 30 MW/60 MWh Battery Energy Storage System project with Guyana Power and Light (GPL) in Georgetown, Guyana’s capital.
The project involves installing one set of 15 MW/30 MWh lithiumion battery systems each at the Good Hope Substation and Sophia Substation. This marks the third formal cooperation between PowerChina and GPL, following the EPC project of Guyana’s National Control Centre and the 2024 Guyana Power Infrastructure Upgrade Project.
