CATL's 25GWh Battery Project Lands in Jiangsu
On May 6, the Binhai Ecological Environment Bureau of Yancheng City issued a public notice stating that the phase one project of the Yancheng CATL New Energy battery production base, under Yancheng CATL New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., has been accepted for review.
It is reported that the project is invested and constructed by Yancheng CATL New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CATL. With a proposed investment of 3 billion yuan, the project will utilize the existing factory buildings of the New Energy Green Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park project of Binhai Huanchuang New Energy Co., Ltd. By purchasing internationally leading intelligent manufacturing production equipment and supporting facilities for new energy batteries, it aims to form an annual production capacity of approximately 25GWh of new energy batteries.
Hithium's International Long-Duration Energy Storage Innovation Center Lands in Hong Kong
On April 30, Hithium officially moved into the Hong Kong Park of the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone. It plans to invest over 200 million Hong Kong dollars to build Hong Kong's first energy storage pilot testing and intelligent production line, establishing an international long-duration energy storage innovation center.
Yi Ziqi, Director and Vice President of Hithium, stated that revolving around the construction of the international long-duration energy storage innovation center, the company will focus its efforts on three major directions:
First, focusing on deep industrial cultivation: Promoting continuous breakthroughs and the application of long-duration energy storage technology, and helping Hong Kong perfect its new energy industry ecosystem.
Second, relying on locational advantages: Connecting the mature supply chain and manufacturing capabilities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area on one end, while interfacing with high-growth global demands such as grid energy storage and AI data centers on the other.
Third, strengthening digital and intelligent empowerment: Continuously advancing the integration of the manufacturing system with digital capabilities to provide solid support for the large-scale development of long-duration energy storage.
Haishan Energy Storage's 15GWh Energy Storage Manufacturing Industry Project Commences Construction
On April 29, the Inner Mongolia Haishan Energy Storage 15GWh energy storage manufacturing industry project officially commenced construction.
According to reports, the project has a total investment of 2 billion yuan, covers a planned land area of 148 mu (approximately 24.4 acres), and has a total construction area of about 90,000 square meters. It intends to build an annual production capacity of 10GWh for energy storage batteries and 5GWh for energy storage system equipment integration.
Weifang Energy's 20GWh Sodium Battery Project Welcomes New Progress
On April 27, phase one of the 20GWh-per-year sodium battery production line construction project by Guizhou Weifang Energy New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. was in full swing. Relevant personnel in charge expect to complete the project construction in early May, conduct a trial run of the production line by the end of June, and officially start production in August.
It is reported that the first phase of this project has a total investment of 500 million yuan and a construction area of approximately 40,000 square meters. The core construction content includes one high-performance energy storage sodium-ion battery production line and other related auxiliary facilities. Once the project is completed and reaches its designed capacity, it can achieve an annual production of 1GWh of sodium batteries.
120-Million-Yuan Solid-State Electrolyte Project Settles in Harbin
Recently, the Beijing Graphene Technology Institute and Harbin Zhongke Yingjiang Technology Co., Ltd. officially signed a contract to jointly advance the research and development of solid-state electrolytes and the industrialization project of graphene applications, with the cooperation amount reaching 120 million yuan.
The project is a powerful joint initiative created by the Beijing Graphene Technology Institute and Harbin Zhongke Yingjiang Technology Co., Ltd. Relying on a core technical team composed of experts from top universities and research institutes such as the Beijing Graphene Technology Institute and Northwestern Polytechnical University, it focuses on tackling key technologies concerning sulfide solid-state electrolyte materials and interface modification, specifically aiming to solve the common bottlenecks that have long existed in the industry.
